She had allegedly asked her husband, Brad, to move out of their residence but he refused.

Brad says she arose before 7 a.m. Saturday morning and left for a run with a friend. "No," says her husband, "she didn’t take a cell phone or any form of identity with her." She also appears to have broken her tradition of taking her car to a coffee house to meet her running partner. This experienced runner training for a half-marathon evidently broke her normal routing and appears not to have traveled along one of her normal running paths. In fact, police have yet to confirm that she actually left her home that morning at 7:00 a.m. as her husband stated. Where are the witnesses, independent of her husband, who saw her leave, or enter another car, or simply walk down the street that Saturday morning?

Judge seals Cooper search warrants

Superior Court Judge signed two court affidavits this month that will allow Cary police to keep secret the items seized from the home of Nancy Cooper and from her husband's workplace.
Nancy Cooper, 34, disappeared on July 12. Her husband said he last saw her that morning when she went jogging.

A walker found Nancy Cooper's body two days later, dumped near a storm drain in an unfinished subdivision just outside of Cary, police reported.

In court documents made public today at the Wake County Clerk of Courts Office, Judge Donald Stephens agreed to sign documents allowing Cary investigators to seal search warrants they obtained from the Coopers' home at 104 Wallsburg Court in Cary and from Cooper's office with Cisco Systems at 7100 Kit Creek Road in Morrisville.

In addition to searching his workplace, Bradley Cooper has been court-ordered to submit saliva or blood samples to help police obtain his DNA profile.

It was a natural leap- two young mothers killed in the prime of their lives when they had so much to look forward to, so much to offer the world. They were attractive, edcuated, and lived in nice neighborhoods that most people would classify as the epitome of the American suburban dream.

Judge to hear case for unsealing Cooper warrants

RALEIGH - Attorneys for The News & Observer and Capitol Broadcasting Co. seek to have search warrants in the Nancy Cooper case unsealed. A hearing on their request is scheduled for this afternoon.
A superior court judge has sealed all the warrants related to the murder case.

Throughout their investigation into Cooper's murder, Cary police have asked a judge to keep warrants secret, including items seized from her home and from her husband's workplace.

In court documents made public this week, Superior Court Judge Donald Stephens agreed to allow investigators to seal warrants used to search the Coopers' home on Wallsburg Court in Cary and husband Bradley Cooper's office at Cisco Systems in Morrisville.

The documents state that releasing information about the items seized would "jeopardize the right of the State to prosecute a defendant or the right of a defendant to a fair trial or will undermine an ongoing or future investigation." The order seals the warrants for 30 days.

RALEIGH, NC (WTVD) -- We could soon learn more details in the Nancy Cooper murder investigation if a Wake County judge unseals search warrants in the case.
Cooper, 34, was killed July 12. Her husband, Brad Cooper, said the last time he saw her she went on a morning jog. Her body was found three-days later close to a construction site in Wake County.
A judge is expected to decide during a hearing scheduled for Thursday whether to unseal the search warrants in the case to local media. The search warrants will reveal what police found in the couple's Cary home and in their two cars.

A Superior Court judge denied the request by two media outlets that search warrants be unsealed in the murder case of North Carolina jogger and mother of two Nancy Cooper.

Police typically elaborate on why they want to comb a certain location in a search warrant and sometimes describe what they think might have befallen the victim.

Authorities executed such warrants for the house and two vehicles belonging to Nancy Cooper and her 34-year-old husband, Brad Cooper. They also took DNA samples from Brad Cooper.

Police have not named a suspect or person of interest in the young woman's killing. She and Brad Cooper had reportedly been on the brink of separation.

Three warrants are at issue: the July 16 search of the Coopers' house and vehicles along with the DNA sample taken from Brad Cooper, the July 21 search of Brad Cooper's office at Cisco Systems Inc. in the Research Triangle Park campus, and a July 25 search of an unspecified location, WRAL reported.

The warrants will be unsealed 30 days from the date they were returned — or about mid- to late-August

Attorneys' Web page seeks to help find Nancy Cooper's killer

Raleigh, N.C. — Attorneys for a slain Cary woman's husband say they have set up a Web page to help police find out who killed her.

"We are reaching out in this way in an attempt to bring 21st century communication techniques to bear and to help motivate any possible witnesses to speak up now," Brad Cooper's attorneys, Howard Kurtz and Seth Blum, said in a statement Friday afternoon.

Still no suspects named in Cooper murder case

Kristin Butler of the Raleigh News and Observer is a local reporter who has been covering the case from Cary. She has been immersed in the story since Nancy was first reported missing by a friend, and says she is surprised there hasn’t been an arrest yet.

“I am, and I really shouldn’t be, because investigations are not solved overnight,” Butler told the Medicine Hat News. “At the same time, this case was such an adrenaline rush in the beginning — there were new developments every day.”

While Nancy’s family has held numerous press conferences, it is Brad’s attorneys who have been speaking on his behalf. They have asked a judge to order prosecutors to release his wife’s autopsy report, arguing it is necessary to challenge the “unsubstantiated insinuations that he played a role in [Nancy] Cooper's death.” They have also set up a website to help in the murder investigation.

Butler has also not seen or heard from any member of Brad Cooper’s family. “I’m sure there’s a story there too,” she says. “So far, we’ve only been getting one side of the story.”

Butler says there is intense public interest in the details of the Cooper case, but it is not something she takes pleasure in covering.

“It’s certainly not fun for us to see these kinds of allegations made publicly . . . It’s not something we as reporters relish covering,” she said. “We as reporters understand there are people with families at the centre of it.”

In one part of the 13-page document he states, "Nancy left for her run around 7 a.m.. She usually ran with her friend, Carey, who lives in a condo a few minutes from our house."

But in a new affidavit submitted this week in the custody case, Carey Clark said, "I have no plans to run with Nancy Cooper on Saturday, July 12, 2008 and I never ran with Nancy Cooper on July 12, 2008."

That statement does not refute Brad's statements since he has never said he was certain that Nancy went running with Carey.

He simply stated that when none of Nancy's friends knew where she was he thought she might have run with Carey.

The latest affidavit from Carey Clark is apparently not a revelation to investigators and Nancy's friends.

Before then, Nancy Cooper's family wants a judge to order that Bradley Cooper be evaluated by a therapist and that those records be considered in the custody case. They have asked that a hearing be set for September 22.

Nancy Cooper's family and friends asserted in affidavits that Bradley Cooper suffers from suicidal tendencies and contemplated killing himself as recently as this winter. Bradley Cooper and his family have denied these claims in affidavits.

Monday will be the day of the next major development in the now-month-old death of Nancy Cooper.

There are still no suspects in the murder of the former Edmontonian, near her home in North Carolina.

But on Monday, information police have gathered through warrants will have to be released... that is, unless the state can convince a judge to keep it sealed. The district attorney handling the case had said releasing the information would hurt the police investigation.

It's the reason a judge sided with the state, when two media outlets in North Carolina argued last month that the information be unsealed.

State law forces police to indicate a theory, before warrants are issued. They have so far, searched the home of Nancy and husband Brad Cooper, their vehicles, as well as his work.

They've also had Brad Cooper submit a DNA test.
