Presser
For those who can't watch:
He was spotted at the marina, unnamed yacht. Officials lured him back to the marina by calling and telling him that his boat was taking on water. He was arrested when he went back to the marina.
Child was located in the apartment alone.... her appearance had NOT been altered, she seemed happy to see police, appears to be unharmed.
They are working on determining who this man really is. (I heard earlier than he has numerous aliases, no social security number as far as they know, no fingerprints on file, etc.)
Thanks to the press for getting the word out, and for withholding info when officials requested it.
Her mother is very happy, and thanks everyone.
2-day process to determine where he was.
Concerned citizen (anonymous) gave them the tip. No indication that he ever left the US.
Extradition will begin in a short while (a couple days).
Mother is en route to Baltimore.
Very important to apprehend him outside, away from the child.
Very cooperative when arrested. Don't know whose apartment it is. Don't know why he chose Baltimore. on-going investigation.
Aided in any way? Remains to be seen.
No change to his appearance, as far as they know.
Did Reigh say anything? Her first words were that she was happy to see nice people.
Apartment clean? Don't know, we weren't there.
Was he plannign to get outta Dodge? We don't know.
Didn't sail there from Long Island, boat was already at the marina. Don't know how he got to Baltimore.

LOL.
I can type very fast, but sometimes my "listening" is slow.
It's nice to get good news about a missing child. It's so sad when parents put their child in the middle of a situation. I'm not blaming either parent..... don't know these people at all. I'm a child of a bitter divorce, and know that it's hard on the child, no matter what the reasons.

this is such great news!
Sort of off-topic, but why is CNN blurring Reigh's face at this point. Anyone know??

Don't know. I was watching Fox. Maybe her mother wants privacy for her now that she's been found.
I was looking at the pictures of her on Fox, and realized it would have been very easy for him to make her look like a boy. She has a pretty face, but if you look right at her face and ignore her hair, she could be either.

Yeah, I agree. She could have been given that "Dutch Boy" look very easily.
Glad that freak was caught. The whole story is creepy

FYI -- now it's un-blurred again on CNN.com.
This is weird.
The reason I noticed and asked was because I was worried that was a sign she had been mistreated or something. Maybe the unblurring symbolizes that she wasn't (thankfully).

It wouldn't make much sense to try to protect her privacy now that her sweet little face has been on every news channel there is.

I'm so glad they found Reigh safe! Now the question is, who IS this creep? What's his real name and are there other crimes he's responsible for?
Fox said that he's facing both State and Federal charges, kidnapping, taking the child across state lines, falsifying documents, assault of the social worker for a start.

I am delighted she was found safe and sound! I know her mother must be so relieved!!
I never thought he would harm her, but what he did was absolutely wrong. The sad part is for the little girl. She won't get to see this man she loves and adores that she only knows as her father anymore unless it is behind bars. She doesn't care who he used to be...only who he is to her.

This is wonderful news.
Such a strange mystery about the father.
The only way this could get any weirder is if it was discovered he's not even her biological father after all.... which would be good news.... NOT to be related to such a creep.

I'm so glad she is found safe! What a strange situation. Fathers real identity is unknown and he chose to give up custody rather than reveal his true identity? He must have a real serious issue of some kind to make the choices he has rather than reveal his identity.

Stories the Faux Rockefeller has told about his background
http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/pol...701855448.html
Authorities have found no trace of Rockefeller's presence in the US before 1991, when he rented an apartment in New York's Upper East Side.
"I always suspected he had British roots, both from his accent and other things," said Kristie Macrakis, a Boston academic who knew him. "He also told me he lived in South Africa from the age of five to 10. It was like a parlour game, guessing where he came from and who he was."
In one of his stories he said he had inherited a vast estate when his parents died in a car crash.
http://www.boston.com/news/local/art...d_sources_say/
"The judge ordered both parents to undergo a psychiatric evaluation, the sources said.
When asked by Boss's lawyers for proof of his identify, Rockefeller could not provide it, according to the sources.
Those who know him have described him as speaking with an accent that sounds like Boston Brahmin, European, or Scottish. He speaks some Russian, likes sailing, physics, and art, and frequents libraries, police said.
Police said Rockefeller has claimed to be home-schooled.."
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny_c...f_mystery.html
Rockefeller at various times claimed he went to Harvard and Yale, worked for NASA, was a mathematician and owned an aerospace company - none of which appears to be true. While he wore Brooks Brothers suits and ascots, spoke with a classic WASP accent and spread money around, he had no driver's license, no passport and no Social Security card.
He seemed eccentric to those who knew him. Rockefeller hinted to a local curator that he had a top-secret government job and later used an e-mail address for a company - Propulsion Physics - that doesn't seem to exist.
In 2004, he wrote an article for Consider This - a quirky paper in Cornish, N.H., where the couple bought a second home - about discovering a way to use space-age NASA compounds in nontoxic dry cleaning.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny_c..._clarks-2.html
Rockefeller, who claimed to own millions of dollars worth of modern art, told friends Boss bled him of his riches and only denied him custody when he kept her from getting her hands on his collection.
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny_c..._rockefel.html
Clark Rockefeller was so crushed when his ex-wife moved overseas with his beloved 7-year-old daughter that he told pals last Christmas, "I may have to kidnap her."
Quigley speculated that Rockefeller, a man he called brilliant and deliberate, had planned to escape with his adored Reigh, nicknamed "Snooks," for months - maybe since that holiday dinner at Quigley's sister's house near Boston. "He's not an impulsive guy. He's extremely logical. He's had this planned out," said Quigley, a New York City artist.

I know. She's such a cutie. It's a shame she is now going to be deprived of a father b/c of his own actions...but if he is really as unbalanced as he seems, it's likely a good thing.

Rockefeller had apparently spent two years establishing a new identity in Baltimore. He had also used the name MacLaughlin and told locals he was planning to buy and restore a theatre, hinting that he was well-connected in New York. He bought the catamaran two months ago, paying cash and telling the marina owner he had moved to the area to be closer to his sister.
Thought to be 48, he has used at least five aliases - James Frederick, Michael Brown, JP Clark Rockefeller, Clark Mill Rockefeller and Dr J Rockefeller - and claimed at different times to be a mathematician, a physicist, an investment banker and a secret agent working for the Pentagon.
It has been suggested he was financially dependent on his wife but he had a luxurious lifestyle before they met. He was a member of New York's prestigious Metropolitan and Knickerbocker clubs and threw parties for artists and cultural figures.
A friend said: 'He served Stilton and sherry. He had the cheese shipped from overseas... everyone called him Mr Rockefeller.'
