I hear you loud and clear, mike. Remember though, those kinds of actions only get negative attention. We'll do everything we can to get this information out to the public.
Do you have anything else on the mother that may be useful to us? Parent names? The name of the area in Sao Paulo she is from? Did she ever mention the name of a town?

Nancy Grace
I emailed Nancy Grace with this story and a plea for coverage. I encourage all ws'ers to email her, maybe enough us contacting her could get her attention.
I linked the website and told her: Warning: One look at this child and you'll be hooked. I so hope she is!
Cross your fingers and say lots of prayers. If we get NG on board she is relentless.

Mike, your daughter is adorable, and I hope the national media begins covering your story. Maybe if enough people speak up, someone in the government will get involved and help you get Emily back.

How is the fund set up? We can help make sure it's the legal way and then we can help push for donations. The last thing you would need is to get prosecuted on something silly so let us know and we can help.

Talk to your attorney about this. You will most likely need to set up a trust fund in your daughters name. Your attorney could administer the trust or would probably know an attorney that could. If you need help with this let me know, I can make some calls.

Hi Mike,
While your working on getting your fund set up can you let us know what you need? I read your "my space" blog that if you have $10.00 you spend it on flyers vs food. Make sure you keep up your health, you need it to stay in the fight! Smile, sorry motherly advice, can't help it!
Do you need flyers? Do you have a file you could send me, I could print you flyers and mail them to you. These are things we can help with now. Maybe you could make a list of everything you could use/need and post it. You would be surprised of the knowledge, willingness to help, and resources here.

Little Emily is just beautiful. It's hard to understand why getting a missing person's report should be so difficult. What is wrong with LE in that area? I also don't understand why the FBI refuses to get involved. This dad has perm custody of Emily and she has been taken out of the country. I thought that is when the FBI does get involved. If a child is abducted and taken across state lines or out of the country.
Wouldn't Michael need a fund set up for helping to find his daughter verus a trust fund? It sounds like he is really low on money to look for her and do all of the things concerning that. If a trust fund is set up would he be able to use it to look for her?
I remember another dad who came here looking for help because he was hitting brick walls everywhere he turned. His ex had taken his little boy and he had perm custody of him. It took a while but the dad did finally get his little boy back and he sent us pictures of them together. That little boy and his dad looked so happy together. I think the little boy was around Emily's age. You hang in there Michael. It might take awhile but Emily will be back with you.

I also would like to add that if possible a close up picture of the abductor would be of great value, I know I have seen one, but it was a picture taken from a distance.

General Information
Found this on-line.
Monetary Donations
Monetary donations can be extremely helpful to families whose lives have been turned upside down by the disappearance of a child. They can be used to help finance the search, fund a reward, or support the family if a parent is unable to work during the search process. But donations can also present problems if they are not managed properly. For this reason, you need to be aware of some important accounting and accountability issues that, if not handled correctly, could result in legal and financial ruin.
Make sure that both you and your contributors know how the money will be used. Donations can be used for many different purposes, depending upon your need. Ask that donations be earmarked for a specific purpose -- such as the reward fund, the search fund, or the family support fund -- and if they are not, ask one of your volunteers to call the donor to find out to which fund the donation should be given. Seek professional help from both a lawyer and a banker to help you establish separate trusts and accounts and to oversee disbursements.
Keep separate bank accounts for each fund. If accounts are set up properly, donors will feel comfortable that records of the money are being kept and that donations are being used for the specified purpose. Creating a trust fund -- or at least establishing safeguards, such as requiring dual signatures on checks and maintaining accurate records -- is crucial. You must make sure that funds earmarked for a specific purpose are, in fact, being used for that purpose.
Avoid having direct control over any funds received. Parents should not solicit funds on their own. Use volunteer groups for this purpose instead. Parents also should not have any signatory control over the funds, because there have been instances in which someone attempted to extort the reward money from parents by force. Protect yourself from this kind of danger by putting the money, and the power to access it, in someone else's hands.
Designate trusted individuals outside the family to have signature authority over the accounts. By removing yourself from the control of the funds, you eliminate any unnecessary scrutiny by members of the public or the media about the use of the funds. Make sure that the individuals selected for this task are trustworthy and that they understand their role and potential liability.
Maintain accurate records that show where the donations came from and how the money was spent. Make sure that the individuals with signature authority maintain proper records on all income and expenditures. A list of donors should be maintained so thank-you letters can be sent, and copies of receipts for all expenditures should be kept in case questions arise. Ask a banker to help you establish proper accounting procedures, or ask for pro bono help from an attorney or an accountant.
Be honest with the public. Be prepared for questions, which may turn into accusations, concerning the use of donated funds. Designate one person -- who could be you or a trusted friend or family member -- to answer all questions concerning how the funds are being spent. Information concerning the number of donations or the amount in the accounts should never be released to the media.
Specify what will happen to the reward in the event your child is located before the money is spent. Sometimes large sums of money in a reward fund are left unspent. Therefore, you need to establish written procedures for how the money is to be dispensed if it cannot be used for the reward. For example, you can specify that all donations over a certain amount are to be returned, if the donor is traceable, or that unused funds are to be donated to an organization or agency that helped with the search. Excess reward fund money should never be used for the family's personal expenses, because that was not the purpose of the fund. Again, talk with an attorney to determine how to handle this situation.
***I don't think you would have to do mulitple fds but would check. I would just want one general with a list of things it could be used for. examples: flyers, Private Investigator, International and local phone calls etc....-

Everyone, I have a (Donation) on Emily's website but I don't think that it's legal. My lawyer WILL NOT HELP ME unless she gets paid thousands. I have no money for food, to search for Emily, no media attention, no support in my town, no one calling me for a show, I don't even know if i have an investigator on the case, police refuse to return phone calls, F.B.I Wont get involved, nothing. So I mean, If i am doing this wrong, well I don't know how to fix it. No one helps with Fund raiser events or anything. I really don't know what to do anymore. It's just crap. I am not yelling at anyone on here, just the law, the way people treat my and my child with not helping do something. I have no money for flyers even, I would like a billboard put up on a highway but I can't even get that. No family support, nothing.

Mike -
Let us know everything you need.
I know I can print flyers and it looks like one other ws'er has volunteered also. So send us the files/info and the address you want them mailed to and we can get that done.
What else do you need? You have to tell us because we don't know, we've never been in your shoes.
List I can think of (Please add your thoughts):
Money for PI, Lawyer for fund set up
Food - What grocery store do you shop at?
Cell phone? Do you have one or need one?
Media Coverage. I can put together a list of all the email addresses and phone numbers and then we can circulate to websleuths, scared monkeys, and other places that people will help make contacts.
What else can you think of that would be truly helpful? List everything you can think of and let's see what we can take care of.
I know it's tough but hang in there! We are here for you.
