Detective Melich flying to CA to meet with the Padilla's. Confirmed!!!

Thank You to KWM Red for Passing this tidbit on to me to confirm. Thanks to Scared Monkeys for first discovering the rumor about Detective Melich and the Padillas.

Detective Melich is heading out to California to meet with the Padilla's on Thursday.

I checked with a solid source in Florida and it was confirmed.

I have tried to contact Tony Padilla with no luck. Left a message. Mr. Padilla is very good about returning calls. Don't know if he can comment or not on this one. We'll see.

Sounds like LE is being very methodical. Thank God they are doing their jobs and taking their time to make sure everything is solid!!!

oh I am so hoping!! I'm wondering if it's possible there could of been more going on with Mr. Cali Military man that Casey was wanting to go speak with.. I have absolutely no clue what base he is on or where the Padilla's live.. maybe near each other?

Most Marine bases are in Southern Ca. Padilla is in Sacramento which is in the Central Valley. Quite a distance apart - like about an 8 hour drive.

Don't know if this has been answered...base is at twenty-nine palms (according to NG tonite)...Padilla up in Sacramento. Not close, but an airplane ride away.

There's a big base in 29 Palms. Nasty desert area.

Excellent news! I think The Padilla's have a lot more info than we know about.
It seems every time Leonard and Tony have been on TV they have been dropping little bombs - like the refused lie detector tests and the new story with the script at Blanchard Park.

LP had mentioned some of the phone records he's obtained, and while I'm sure that LE has the same records, maybe LP has put something together in regards to those phone records. He's also been insistent about the dumpster at the Amscot center.

It sounds like something that has to be dealt with in person rather than over the phone.

yes I get that.. I'm just wondering why Padilla isn't heading to Florida instead of YM heading to Cali... I mean, YM has got to be up to his eyeballs with Casey BS and trying to work on the Caylee case

yes, but the Padilla's have their own work to do in California (was going to say CA but thought that would be confusing lol) and Yuri's job is this case and getting statements. I don't see anything really strange that he would go to them just like he would drive down the road to meet with any other witness (just further away.)

I wonder if Lee really has been in touch with him..LP had said in one interview that Lee was in contact with him..then remember he said on Nancy Grace he had not been in contact with Lee..wonder if LE asked him to retract that Lee had been calling and thats why he changed and said he had not been talking to Lee..I still wonder if it was Lee who called in the tip about GA having the gun..

This is what I was thinking as well. Swoop on through and grab some DNA from the man she said she had to tell something to and she was not sure how he would react...perhaps try to find out if this is the daddy and then hit up the Ps. No matter what they are going there for, the Ps would make GREAT character witnesses, not only for trial, but for penalty phase! With her daughter missing all over Rob like white on rice. They are piling up the goods. They had much less on Peterson and that too four months for an arrest. It's all going to be okay. I'm sure of it!
