WI-Hunter finds UID body in Dodge County

http://www.fdlreporter.com/article/2...811250346/1985

25 Nov 08

A body found during the weekend may be that of a transient man last seen in September.

A hunter discovered the badly decomposed body at about 4:26 p.m. Nov. 23 off County Trunk AY and Madison Road near Iron Ridge, according to Dodge County Sheriff's Department dispatch logs.

Iron Ridge Police Chief Charles Young said a positive identification of the body was not expected until Tuesday.

"At this point we don't know if the body is that of a 56-year-old former Brookfield man that was reported missing back in September," Young said. "In that case, we were contacted by the man's son who reported that his father, who had been living out of his car, had been suicidal and was missing."

Young said that the body was in advanced stages of decomposition. The body was transported to the Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner's Office for assessment.

(Note: This is a different case than the UID found by hunters in Fond du Lac County, WI.)

Body found in Dodge County identified

From fdlreporter.com:

A body found in a Dodge County farm field over the weekend has been identified as a former Brookfield resident last seen in September.

Iron Ridge Police Chief Charles Young said the autopsy performed Tuesday by the Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that the body was that of a 56-year-old Brookfield man who was reported missing by his son on Sept. 18. The identity of the man is not being released pending notification of family.

Young said the man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound soon after he was reported missing.
