TX - Joanna Rogers, 16, Lubbock, 4 May 2004
Two weeks ago, a Lubbock teen disappeared from her home. Now the FBI and Texas Rangers have joined the search for Joanna Rogers.
Tuesday morning an FBI agent interviewed Joanna's mother for about an hour and a half. Also new, the Carole Sund Foundation offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the safe return of Joanna

sure is strange that this young lady went missing during the night. I feel like she had planned on going out of the house when the parents went on to sleep. hopefully she will show up ok, I think she is a runaway. remember christa rolinger that run away and was missing for about 2 months or so. lets all keep our prayers strong for this family and for the safe return of the child.

I don't know
I don't see her as being a runaway because she did not take her debit card, shoes, clothes, or cell phone. I think it is disgusting that the police waited for 2 days to declare Joanne a missing person. She is only a junior in high school and was supposedly a very good and reliable girl. The ten mile area search was only done this past weekend and foul play is suspected. I have no idea if they still believe that she left the home of her own free will or not, and hopefully the local yokals will let people know if there is some nut running around abducting girls.

After two days with hundreds of volunteers, the search for missing Lubbock teen Joanna Rogers continues. Few clues were found, but authorities say much ground was covered, and leads keep coming in everyday.
16 year-old Joanna Rogers has been missing for almost three weeks. But this weekend, hundreds gathered to assist in her search.

Her name is Shadow. A Siberian Husky trained to search out the missing - alive or dead. "What we're doing is eliminating places," said Captain Bill Drewell of the Lubbock Sheriff's Department.
On Wednesday, Shadow was helping the sheriff's department search through cars at a towing yard. "What we're doing is going to some of the areas that we didn't get to search over the weekend," said Drewell.

Missing Endangered Child: Joanna Kathryn Rogers
Dear friends and family,
Kelly and I are networking the case of a missing child from Lubbock, Texas. Joanna Kathryn Rogers was last seen at her parents house on May the 4th. She has no history of running away and a national alert was sounded as soon as it was discovered she was missing. Police DO believe foul play is involved in her disappearance.
We need your help.
Please visit Joanna's website at www.bringjohome.info and take a good look at her. Do you think you recognize Joanna? If so please contact the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office at 1-806-775-1601 or 1-806-775-1604
Additional photos of Joanna may be found here, http://members.cox.net/bringjohome/photo.html
Please download her flyer and place in local businesses and anywhere you deem appropriate. Your flyer might be the one someone recognizes and can bring her home again.

If you are in the area, please contact United Response SAR team at (817) 501-9296 or (817) 414-5129 to volunteer for Search and Rescue. They need all the help they can get. They will be announcing SAR efforts on their web site at http://www.ursarteam.org/
If you have a web site, please link Joanna to yours, asap.
Please copy this letter to word and send to all on your list BCC, and in the TO field, send to yourself, to protect your list from SPAM.
Pray for Joanna and pray for her family who love and miss her so much. Pray for those who search for her, and for answers and soon.
Updates will be posted on Joanna's web site and also at http://www.truckingboards.com/trucki...ead.php?t=7316
Thank you all for reading this, and for anything you do to help. Your participation is what makes these mailers a huge success. You are all so wonderful to help the missing. As always if you need a mailer or have a prayer request, please contact me immediately.

a local
I live in the area and all news accounts that I have seen say that Joanna was placed on the national missing persons list two days after her mother discovered her gone. The Texas Rangers and FBI are on the case, and I know they are very good at what they do. I've seen some other locals, one who knows her, posting on the internet that Joanna is an honors student and has very good grades. The high school she attends is an honors school offering advanced placement, and her father is a private investigator. I wonder if Joanna could have sneaked outside to smoke a cigarette and some nut abducted her. Last year we had a prowler around our home. My daughter who was 18 would go outside very late to smoke a cigarette, and I thought there might be some connection. Thank God for a neighbors dog barking or my daughter could have been hurt or abducted. My daughter would never go anywhere, not even in the yard, without a phone with her though, and that puzzles me about this case.

txvicki, Please keep us posted on news involving Joanna. It's possible she ran away, but that shouldn't be assumed because she might have been abducted. It's better to error on the side of caution when no history of running away exist.

hardly any news
I'm not hearing any news about Joanna. There's hardly anything being said except that they have no leads. Surely there's more though, but I've not heard a thing about whether there was anything on the computers or phone records, and if her bed had been slept in or if any clothes or pajamas were missing that she could have had on.

I have been following Joanna's case but there is no news on it in the national media compared to Brooke Wilberger. I really hope they find her alive. So many missing young women. It's so sad and scary.

phone records
June 4th Lubbock Avalanche Journal reports that authorities are still waiting for phone and communications records to assist in their search. I'm not sure what communications records are, if it's computer or what. Joanna's mother also states that she has no complaints with the way the case is being handled. Still no leads are being reported.

Joanna Rogers
Joanna Rogers flyers have been posted to several websites and organizations. The family has several friends working to make sure she is posted everywhere. There are a couple of websites just for Joanna. The Lubbock County Sheriff Department is working hard on the case, and has had several tips but none of them have panned out to be good Leads. They can't release any information as they find it, until the case is solved and Joanna is found.
We will continue to search for Joanna until she is found, and try to keep this story alive. She is on the Projectjason website
http://www.projectjason.org/faces.html
and the organization is taking with them her information/flyer on their missing person tour, which will cross several states. We hope and pray she will come home or someone will call and let us know where she can be found.
Please continue to keep this family in your prayers, each day that goes by is harder and harder for them.

still involved
I'm very curious to know if the FBI and Texas Rangers are still involved. I read an update yesterday that said the "trail began and ended at Joanna's home", meaning that there are no leads. Even if no one had said that a stranger could have abducted her, there seems to be so many young women of student age that just disappear lately.

no leads
Update on www.bringjohome.info still no leads. Polygraphs of family, co workers, boyfriend done. Phone and computer records show no evidence. Joanne's bank account remains untouched.

Family requests
Joanna's family has asked area farmers and others to check their land, old wells, buildings, abandoned cars, etc for any signs of a body. The family says that they want to find Joanna and bring her home. I'm updating because I live in the area and I am checking daily for updates.

txsvicki,
How extensive a search was done for Joanna? I haven't seen a lot of information about searches.

search
The authorities did the initial search and a few weeks after the disappearance , the public responded and I believe a search was done in a 10 mile radius around her home area. We haven't been given just a whole lot of information about the investigation, but the Sheriff's department has stated that there are no leads. Joanna's dad is a private investigator, and the family is reported to be attending a conference for investigators to try and find more help or advice about what more they can do.

Joanna's 18 Wheel Angel campaign started today and continues until month end.
18 Wheel Angels is a program offered by Project Jason in which truck driver or other business travelers are recruited to place posters of missing persons as they go along their routes. Of course, anyone can place these posters, and you are encouraged to.
You can download Joanna's poster at:
http://www.projectjason.org/18wheel.html
Please pray for a successful campaign and for Joanna and her family.
Thank you.

another missing girl here
The Sheriff's dept. is saying that the two cases don't seem to be related, but there is another missing woman here in town, age 26. She was last seen Tuesday, made it to her house but has not been seen since. The car and car keys were there at her house and she has not picked up her paycheck. She also worked at a place that serves many people in the public. Hopefully these cases will resolve in a happy ending and that there truly is no connection. There's already several, too many, unsolved murders of women in this town and I don't want to see Joanna or this other girl added to it.

still no news
After the weekend combined search for Joanna and Jennifer, there is still no news. About 200 volunteers showed up for the search and it was reported that a more extensive area was searched than the original search for Joanna.

haircolor
An update on the website www.bringjohome.info mentions an important fact about Joanna's haircolor. Her missing posters show red hair, but it is not her natural haircolor. Joanna's natural haircolor is brown, and if she is unable to color, could be showing roots. More photos are linked under the photo section, and viewers are encouraged to view them to get an idea of how Joanna might look with a different haircolor.
