A Minnesota Crime Alert has been issued for a missing man from Falcon Heights.

Harold William Schroetter, 56, was last seen leaving his home in Falcon Heights in the early morning hours of February 26th. He was driving a 2004 red Chrysler Crossfire.

Police found his car a few miles away in St. Paul near Timberlake and Jackson on March 1st but the vehicle was unoccupied and there were no signs of foul play.

All authorities know is that Schroetter reportedly frequented area casinos.
Schroetter is described as:


white male
5' 10"
170 pounds
brown hair
green eyes
He was last seen wearing a brown leather jacket, red sweater, white shirt, blue jeans and brown boots.

ST. PAUL, Minn.-- Those who knew Harold Schroetter say he's not the type person who would be murdered by a friend, and yet that's the theory the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is going with for now.

"We believe he's likely deceased and the victim of foul play," BCA assistant commissioner Dave Bjerga told reporters Friday in Saint Paul.

Schroetter, a 57-year-old postal worker and former Navy submarine man, disappeared a year ago this week. He was last seen in his Falcon Heights home Feb. 25, 2009. His red Chrysler turned up in the parking lot of a housing complex on Saint Paul's north end.

Spotlight on Crime has announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for the disappearance of Harold Schroetter. He was last seen at his Falcon Heights home one year ago Feb. 26. Investigators believe Schroetter is the victim of foul play, but they have been unable to locate his body.

Investigators hope the reward encourages someone to come forward with information. Investigators are also urging Minnesotans, particularly residents who live in the Twin Cities, Mille Lacs County or locations in between, to walk their properties in search of Schroetter.

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. (WCCO) ― It's been a year and a half since Harold Schroetter disappeared from his Falcon Heights home. On Saturday, his family spent a second birthday not knowing what happened to the long-time postal worker.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A Ramsey County probate judge has declared a missing Falcon Heights man dead and has blocked his former girlfriend from receiving any of his estate.
