Kathleen Savio's Family Suing Drew Peterson for Wrongful Death

Fox News (national) is reporting that the family of Kathleen Savio is suing Drew Peterson for the wrongful death of Kathleen.

The lawsuit was to be filed Monday (April 20, 2009) but it's not known if it has, in fact, been filed.

In the meantime, Drew Peterson is going to the Illinois Supreme Court to try to regain control of Kathleen Savio's estate.

I just saw this and thought...maybe...just maybe they can get some information from Drew under oath...or force him to a lie detector test...

Maybe...it will flush him out....

One can always hope....

I guess the Savios gave up waiting for an arrest in the criminal case...can't say that I blame them. I sure hope he gives something away during testimony and then can be tried for Kathleen's or Stacy's deaths, or both.

Despite little Joey's confidence that the Supreme Court would throw out the decision to reopen the estate, it looks as though the Supreme Court did uphold the decision.

Drew Peterson won't fight insurance company's removal from suit

Former Bolingbrook police Sgt. Drew Peterson won't contest efforts by his homeowner's insurance company to remove itself from a wrongful death lawsuit filed against him, his attorney Joel Brodsky said Thursday.

What ever gave Peterson and his attorney the idea that homeowners insurance pays attorneys for civil suits or pays their attorney for trial costs!!
We knew that the attorney isn't to bright but this really takes the case. Old Drew has plenty of money socked away to pay his attorney.

I wonder what Katheline's boys are thinking about Drew now that the third autopsy has come out and proves she was murdered. Are they still holding up for him? I wonder who the two little kids are living with now? Seems like the oldest boy had all four of the kids to begin with when his dad went to jail but that is an awful lot of kids for a young guy to be in charge of...especially the two little ones. Of course I doubt that Drew would agree to let Stacy's family take them.

Does anyone know when this trial is supposed to start? This is another trial I would like to see on TruTV if they are still doing trials by then.

Right or wrong, I believe that an umbrella policy might pay court costs, including lawyers' fees. I am not an insurance broker (or wealthy), but I believe the intent of an umbrella policy is to protect in case someone is injured on/by your property, and the damage is above what your homeowners or auto insurance will pay.

I just can't imagine that it would cover expenses after/if/when DP is found guilty. I would think any self-respecting insurance company would demand its $ back.

Sorry if this explanation is lacking. Here's a better one.

I am hoping that this trial starts in my lifetime.

I think, IIRC, that cameras are banned in IL courtrooms.
