Has Stacy Peterson's Body Been Found?
Remains Found on River Bank Near Blue Barrel Could Be Stacy Peterson's or Lisa Stebic's
Quote:
The discovery Wednesday of a decomposing woman's body near the Illinois home of accused murderer Drew Peterson has the potential to blow huge holes in his claim that wife Stacy Peterson simply ran off with another man...
...the decomposing body was found less than a mile from a blue barrel...
...Area resident Michelle Williams spotted the blue barrel in the river earlier this week and notified police...
...Investigators say the partial remains of a small woman clad only in underwear were found by a barge clean-up crew on the bank of the Des Plaines River near rural Channahon, Ill...

The article is three pages long and implies that it may be Stacy Peterson or Lisa Stebic or another UID Female.

Very Sad! Both these families need closure. My gut has always told me that Stacy had been murdered by Drew; and given his current incarcerated status I'm half-way hoping it is her to put him away for good.

So anyone out there got any knowledge about decomp that may be able to tell if either of the time frames match the level of decomp? I know water would speed the process, but the report on GMA this AM said the body was wearing only underware, which leads me to believe it's not all the decomposed... at least, the fabric is intact. I'm not familiar with Lisa's case (isn't that awful, I only know Stacy cause she got national coverage) but it seems to me that Drew would have been "smart" enough to remove all clothing...

The water in that river is pretty cold, and if the body remained in the blue container or barrell for some length of time, those factors may have slowed decomposition. I'll bet my bottom dollar it's Stacy, and suddenly Drew's step-brother's statements about helping Drew move a blue barrell become all important.

I honestly hope its Stacey who is making sure that Drew's arrogant comments about getting off on the charges for his second wife's murder doesnt happen or that he pays the piper on her own murder..

Actually, Kathleen Savio was Drew's THIRD wife. He didn't kill the first two, just made their lives a living hell.

My hope is that it is her as well.
Would he have to stand trial for wife 3 first?
If the evidence is stronger for one than the other, would they persue 1 and not both? If it is Stacey, can they use her murder to help make a case in the trial for his 3rd wife to show a pattern?
If it is Stacey, I would LOVE to know what his current fiancee is thinking now...that girl has to be a few cards short of a full deck.

My guess is that the two cases would run as separate entities, separate events, but they only need to 'get him' on one, so probably the case with the most probative and provable evidence would be the focus. Drew's current girlfriend isn't thinking anything at all, because she simply isn't thinking, period.

There have got to be quicker identifiers than DNA...obviously that would be definative, but there are other things that could give us SOMETHING. Is the body the same age, ethnicity, approximate height, weight. Does the underwear brand match something Stacey is known to purchase...etc. I'm a very curious cat. LOL

Yeah, in one article, they said they would be looking at dental records today and the autopsy was scheduled for 9:30. Maybe we'll hear something on those dental records, rather than waiting for DNA.
This has been a long time coming, if it's Stacy (or Lisa, for that matter!)
I'm sitting on the edge of my seat, too!!
