quoting my own self to clarify on the they... I can see more than one person being involved... and whenever I try to write about the perp I seem to want to pluralize... not because I live in Michigan or anything LOL...

I'm fairly certain it is. In the video you linked (thanks, btw) you can see in the aerial shots where the road guardrail ends. There isn't anywhere else near there with just that combination of features.

((nurse raises hand)) I can answer that. The first foxtoledo articles and tweets that came out on this case actually mentioned that one of the main reasons they were concerned was because of the low temperature and the fact that Neveah had not been dressed for it. They made underlined and bolded note that she had no shoes or socks on and was in jean shorts with a short sleeved shirt and could be subjected to the elements.
((eta: low temperature meaning low temperature at night))

does anyone else find it strange that news crews were allowed down to the burial site so soon after the find???????
ETA: could this be a defense bone of contention to pick when the perp who is good for this goes to trial?

There has not been a day in Michigan yet this year that was warm enough to run around barefoot. Especially not in the evening. It cools off early.

Hey, Great thinkin' there BB. The bags from Portland Cement are a thick brown paper and it is a double bag. I don't think there is any waterproofing, but I could be wrong.
However, it would certainly work fine and hold up for dipping in the river a few times IMO.

It's not as clearly stated here as in the original video link, but.......
http://www.freep.com/article/2009060...89/1007/NEWS05
Bickley said it looked as though someone dug a hole, then poured a bag of concrete mix on top of the body. The men called 911 but had to wait two hours before anyone arrived. They spent much of the day at the sheriff's office filing reports.

You mean the 24th when Nevaeh went missing?
It's here: http://www.wunderground.com/weathers...y=24&year=2009

Here's a link to Weather Underground for that day.
It appears to have been in the upper 60's. Warm weather for Michigan.

Who's up for a party at Chilly's house tonight since we now know where he/she lives?

I am thinking maybe that would work too. They prob know by the condition of the bag they found, I wonder if it was still in one piece. Geez, it never dawned on me if they have the bag they will know exactly where it came from with lot numbers etc.

This has probably been discussed on one of the previous threads (I just found it!), but what do you all make of it? She last logged in 3 days before the remains were found.

I thought about cooler as soon as I heard that Nevaeh was found in the shallow grave with concrete over her. The perps, yeah I think two of them, may have transported her in a cooler and used the cooler to get water from the river to mix the concrete in to pour over her.

IIRC, the police found a fresh body under a bridge here in Rochester while the serial killings were happening. They then watched the area to see if anyone came back and to make a long story short that's how they caught Arthur Shawcross.
It seems that some of these guys repeat the thrill of the killing by coming back.
|
I believe that is also similar to how they caught Wayne Williams for the Atlanta Child murders in the 70's. I think these days they get far more useful hard evidence by thoroughly processing the scene for forensucs then by simply watching for who shows up, which can be more easily challenged in court.

wondering outloud.
if there was no sexual assault do you think those SO's could flip on the mother and say she's the killer and they only disposed of the body.

That makes the most sense, since it would conceal Nevaeh's body from the car/truck to the site she was buried. I also believe the perp(s) tried to make it look like they were fishing so that would fit in. MOO
