PA - Rebecca Lynne Amrowski, 26, Fairmount Township, 2009
I have been a long time lurker and am amazed at how much information you have been able to find on cases. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post and welcome advice on where this case belongs. Below are two links to a case near where I used to live. A young wife was found in her home dead, declared not suspicious, and husband is missing. The only other information I found was her obit. which surprisingly does not list her husband. http://www.timesleader.com/news/Dece...hterm=Amrowski

That's exactly what struck me too. Sounds like her family knows the truth.

Don't rental cars have lo-jack or other GPS devices on them? And they still aren't saying anything about how Rebecca died?

Article from Nevada paper;
Luzerne County Coroner John Corcoran told the Times-Leader that after an autopsy on Tuesday he didn't believe Amrowski's death was suspicious. He didn't release the cause and manner of Amrowski's death, saying he didn't want to hamper the investigation, the newspaper reported

"Rebecca Amrowski was found dead from a reported gunshot wound in the basement of her home"
A search warrant that was obtained on Monday by authorities for the Fairmount Township home after her body was found was sealed by a county judge on Friday. Several other search warrants obtained as a result of the investigation have also been sealed.
County Coroner John Corcoran said after an autopsy on June 23 that he didn’t believe Rebecca Amrowski’s death to be suspicious.
Despite the coroner’s opinion, county District Attorney Jacqueline Musto Carroll and Krawetz said the investigation is continuing because of Rebecca Amrowski’s age and failed attempts to reach the husband

Rebecca is found dead of a gunshot wound.
She is found in her basement.
Her co workers find her.
Her rental car is missing. So is her husband.
Her husband goes off with a friend on a trip,
with the rental car and is found in NV.
Rebecca's obituary does not mention husband, does
ask for donations to domestic violence causes.
Rebecca is buried.
Was her family satisfied with the autopsy results?
I hope not.
Time to pay for a qualified coroner autopsy.
It seems LE knows more than they are letting on.

A man who finds his wife dead of a gunshot wound does not then steal her rental car and drive to Nevada with his buddy. Clearly. A man who finds his wife dead calls police (because if she was shot by someone else that person might be around and a gunshot death would have to be investigated) and then calls her family and his family. He would stay to answer questions and make funeral arrangements and attend the funeral. It's not the time to steal a car and look for work out of state or pan for gold or go camping. Whichever.
In PA, the coroner system is so outdated. Most elected coroners in small counties are not medico-legal experts and forensic pathologists. Maybe this coroner said the death wasn't "suspicious" because he knew darn well it was murder. So all he had to do was withhold cause and manner of death until the husband was caught and returned to PA.
