Tuesday will be three years, hard to believe Lindsey is still missing.
My thoughts and prayers are with her family and all those here, who keep her name out in the public view.

I've been super busy and hadn't had time to come post..
I wanted to let any locals know that a few of us will be at Lindseys tree today (it's located at Beerbower Park) at around 4pm for a small vigil. We are going to add some flowers to her tree, say a prayer and release a few balloons.
Please feel free to join us.

Thanks!
Jen -- thanks for all you do (and have done) to make sure Lindsey is not forgotten!
Let our collective prayer today be that this will be the last time this anniversary is commemorated. Let June 26th, 2013, be the day we gather to celebrate Lindsey's homecoming!!

Three years, all those days, are days that should never have happened. Will always remember you, Lindsey.

My dearest brother recently passed away from ALS (AKA - Lou Gehrig's disease). It is an terrible disease without a cure, without a known cause, and is only diagnosed by elimination of other diseases. He is my hero!! He accepted the fact that he had to endure this disease, and he stayed positive even though I cried many times since he was diagnosed in early 2011. I know that he rests in peace knowing that he lived a good life here; and he will be blessed up there! May I always honor his memory in being a good person too!! I love you big Bro (also known as the gentle giant). 10/25/2012

The Vidette newspaper did a great cover story "Missing Lindsey Baum, three years gone" by Tommi Halvorsen Gatlin, June 28, 2012. Unfortunately The Vidette http://www.thevidette.com/ doesn't load all their stories onto their website, hopefully they'll load at least an abbreviated version.
They did a beautiful job. The article, photos, and images really tugs at heart strings, personalizes this missing child story.

If someone told me we would be chatting about this case 3 years later.
I would not have believed them. Just amazing there has been no closure in this case.
The lack of motive has always been tough for me on this case.
Possible sexual motive. I never really had that HI on the list, if at all.
What motive would someone had had, to abduct this child on her way home. Why would a total stranger somehow be responsible for this missing child. In this small town. Three years and no communication with anyone about the person responsible. Not even a solid lead through tip.

Sadly, I think sexual abuse was the only reasonable motive. Surely sweet Lindsey had no enemies. Small town or not, there are sick freaks everywhere. I think it was an evil crime of opportunity. JMO

The large Lindsey Baum banner has been moved to another location, now on a building facing a busier highway. http://www.mcclearychronicles.com/20...ard-bound.html
This banner is from the Washington State Patrol Homeward Bound program. The previous location was good - faced post office, library, and busy mini-mart/gas. Now it can be seen as drivers pass through town, both locals and travelers will see it.
Lindsey's Tree of Hope in the park across the street is beautiful. The decorations, signs, and flowers draw attention.
Flyers are still posted all over town, including the city police station and web site.
Happy Birthday Lindsey, hope we can bring you home soon.

An example of how Lindsey continues to be in the thoughts of regional reporters:
https://twitter.com/KeithKOMO4/statu...84536093007873
Quote:
Keith Eldridge @KeithKOMO4
Paulina Frakes in custody accused of kidnapping her niece yesterday. Girl OK. You don't take a 10-yr-old from McCleary w/o being noticed.
|
(my bolding)
He is referring to this case: http://kxro.wordpress.com/2012/08/10...g-in-mccleary/ This recent case has no apparent connection with the Lindsey Baum case other than general location and that it was a 10 year old girl.
Law enforcement also definitely cares:
Quote:

“This is a case that continues to haunt all of us,” said Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott.

Quote:

Scott says the case is still discussed daily as tips continue to come into the office.
