A Palmer Township woman who reported her 41-year-old husband missing to police Monday night no longer is sitting back waiting for police to find him.
Doris Lynch has members of her church, the MOMS Club of Easton and Facebook friends searching for husband, Don, who has not been seen since about 9:30 a.m. Monday in the Jim Thorpe area of Carbon County.
"We have grave concerns. He's a danger to himself," Doris Lynch said. "He's been very depressed, and he's under tremendous stress. I'm fearing the worst."
Palmer Township police Chief Bruce Fretz said Donald E. Lynch was reported missing Monday after Lynch was notified he was involved in a civil lawsuit with the owner of a property in Jim Thorpe.
He said while police are investigating Lynch's disappearance, the case is not considered suspicious.
Doris Lynch said she and her husband have been married 13 years, and they have three young daughters.
She said her husband is originally from Warren County, N.J., and he is an engineer who works as a private consultant and for Buckeye Pipe Line in Upper Macungie Township near Breinigsville.
She said he was driving his personal vehicle, a black, 2005 PT Cruiser with a Pennsylvania license plate ERA-2715, when he left their Palmer Township home around 5:30 a.m. Monday. She said he was last seen near Jim Thorpe around 9:30 a.m. at 34 Martha Lane in Penn Forest Township, where he is doing work for a private client. From there, Doris said he should have went to his job at Buckeye Pipe Line, but he never showed up.
She filed a missing person's report with Palmer Township Police Department and state police Monday night after he didn't come home for dinner or return calls.
Doris Lynch said the search is being based on the last known signal that came from her husband's cell phone. The phone company's records show a cell tower at 5314 Egypt Road in North Whitehall Township pinged the phone at 12:39 a.m. Tuesday.
Lynch said the tower's gives a signal for a 14-mile radius, which would include the Lehighton area. She said the cell phone has not been used since before he left their house Monday morning.
Her husband is 5-feet, 7-inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He has short, black wavy hair and brown eyes.
The only pic i could find of him.
