The last time anyone saw Florida International University law student Tom Daniels was 12 days ago, when he stormed out of a pizza joint, agitated.
On Nov. 2, Daniels ran out of a pizza restaurant near the Modesto Maidique campus in west Miami-Dade County, telling a friend: "They are coming to get me.''
Daniels left his car parked at the campus fraternity house where he lives and works part time. He hasn't called his relatives or friends.
FIU said their police department continues to follow leads.
"We are still very concerned about Mr. Daniels' safety and ask the community to assist us in locating him,'' said FIU Police Chief Bill King.
Daniels is a 6-foot-5 white male, weighs 230 pounds and has brown eyes and brown hair.
Authorities ask anyone with information on Daniels' whereabouts to call FIU police at 305-348-2626 or 305-348-2633.

Wow. The quote "They're coming to get me" sounds like he is having paranoia possibly due to schizophrenia. I hope LE has checked hospitals, etc. as well as homeless shelters. Sounds like this young man is decompensating and having a break from reality. Hope he is found and gets the help he needs.

According to a news release, Tom Daniels wasn't reported as a missing person when he called 911 on Nov. 5.

Looks like he bounced between Florida and New York during high school and college.
ETA: Per his myspace, he began law school in 2006. He must have been behind in his coursework for some reason, otherwise he would have graduated in May 2009.

Articles have said he has a girlfriend and lived at the phi gamma delta frat house, so I think his myspace must be wrong about that. But there are pics of a possible girlfriend on his myspace- her name is Kelly.

Well it would be nice to know what he called 911 for, where he was and such. It seems like they would have better records of that sort of thing, or they would release more information in hopes that it would help find him.

I hope they release more info soon. The fire and rescue unit that dropped him off at Mt. Sinai Medical Center saw him last.
Where did Tommy call from? Where was he picked up by LE? What was he wearing? Is he on video being dropped off at the medical center, etc?

He had been seeing a psychiatrist.
``I would prefer that. The last time I spoke to him, he told me he was seeing a psychiatrist,'' she said. ``I hope it's a mental thing and not that bad people were after him.''

Other than the comments about him seeing a psychiatrist and the weird comments to friends about being followed, looks like Tom's recent track record is pretty stable.
Long term gf, in school, living as a 'house dad' to the FIJI frat house on campus.
It's interesting that his schooling leading up to this point has him switching between NY and FL fairly regularly. I would assume it was a custody thing, but he was in high school and college when he was transfering between schools thus old enough to make own decisions.
I wonder if/when they will be releasing any more info on this.
My heart goes out to his mom and girlfriend--they are probably worried sick at the moment.

And also, what do the ambulance / first responders
notes say?
Where is the security video of when the ambulance
arrived at the hospital?
Do they say he ran off? He refused service?

Have LE talked with his psychiatrist?
He/she could not release his medical information,
but they could tell
LE if he had called
or
maybe the psychiatrist
placed him in a psychiatric hospital?
I hope LE has checked this out. You would think so.

Somehow, I missed that before.
This man is 6'5" and 230 lbs.
He should be easy to spot, if they can find his trail.

How sad and pathetic is this--it makes me very angry to hear this.
