Through the new, volatile motion about Kronk, Hornsby said that, for the first time, Casey's defense is making a credible attempt to point the finger elsewhere and raise reasonable doubt.
"This the first significant and credible shot the defense has taken at the state, and it has a high likelihood of success," Hornsby said.
A source close to the investigation said that the judge will not allow Casey's defense to bring in Kronk's past and effectively put him on trial. WESH 2's source called the new motion "jaw droppingly sleazy."

According to a motion filed by the defense, Kronk had "monetary interests in finding Caylee." The defense also points out that "Mr. Kronk took a 'personal day' from where he used to work on December 10, 2008, providing him with an opportunity to possibly stage his discovery of Caylee Anthony's remains."
"No member of law enforcement from the FBI to the Orange County Sheriff's Office to the State Attorney's Office has ever suggested to my knowledge that Mr. Kronk is a suspect in any wrongdoing in this case," said Evans. "I think that speaks volumes."

Following is the complete and unedited statement issued by Roy Kronk's attorney, David Evans, about allegations made by Casey Anthony's defense team. The statement was e-mailed shortly before 6:30 p.m. Thursday:
Today, the Casey Anthony defense team commenced, but did not complete, the deposition of Roy Kronk in the State v. Casey Anthony case. Shortly after adjourning the deposition, the Anthony defense team filed a Motion, Memorandum of Law, and accompanying materials suggesting that Roy Kronk, the individual who found Caylee Anthony's remains and repeatedly reported his find to law enforcement agencies, should be considered a suspect in the murder of Caylee Anthony.

I hope this is the right place to post this.
I just saw Matt Lauer talking with Andrea Lyons and Jose Baez on The Today Show about Roy Kronk. Matt Lauer said, "Excuse me, but do you really think there is as much evidence against him as there is for KC Anthony?" They said he should have been investigated because he was "the only one with the body". He also asked them about the new discovery where they found insects in her car that were consistent with a human body and AL did admit there was suspicion but no physical evidence. They said everyone wants to try this case today but that's not what's happening.
Before the interview, they showed a clip of Kronk's ex-wife talking about how he had duct taped her hands once and the first thing she thought when she heard he had found the body was that he had done it. I think it was JB & AL that said he had called his son and told him he would be finding the body before he found it, or something to that effect.

An ex-wife of the former Orange County meter reader who discovered the remains of Caylee Anthony told the CBS "Early Show" that she thought her ex-husband was responsible for or involved in the girl's death.
None of the new information will be heard by the jury in Casey Anthony's murder trial unless the judge rules for the defense on the latest motion and allows it into evidence.
The state has yet to respond to the new information, but Kronk is expected to be a key witness for the prosecution in the Casey Anthony case.
Hearings in Casey Anthony's check fraud and murder cases are scheduled for Dec. 11.

WFTV legal expert Bill Scheaffer called it a low blow by Baez, who he says appears lost in his own case.
"The defense has continued to have a suspect de jour other than Casey Anthony," said Scheaffer. "This is beyond a pathetic attempt. This is a despicable act on the part of the defense in this case."
In other words, Baez and Anthony are walking a fine line with the accusations. So far, the defense has not spoken publicly about the bizarre turn of events.

Interviews with the ex-wives of the man who discovered the remains of slain toddler Caylee Marie Anthony suggest her mother's defense team is trying to cast doubt on the key witness' credibility.
In the videotaped interviews, both of Kronk's ex-wives say he was violent towards them. No police reports or other evidence were provided to bolster their claims.

Kronk’s bitter ex-wives have accused him of almost everything but the Kennedy assassination and the 9-11 attacks, but they were not questioned under oath and the defense did not provide one iota of evidence to support any of the allegations, no police reports, nothing.
Sheaffer points out that, if the defense team repeats unsubstantiated allegations like this outside of court, they could be sued. They didn't during their morning network blitz Friday, which tells him they have no evidence to back them up.
Sheaffer says it's another indication that this is another media stunt without any evidentiary or legal substance.

Filing and publicizing the latest so-called ”Motion in Limine” by the Anthony defense team, which would now seem to include Brad Conway, lawyer for George and Cindy Anthony, is an all-time low on a grand scale, even for this crew. This so-called defense tactic, designed to shift the focus of blame away from their client Casey Anthony, is neither new nor unusual in this case.
As officers of the court, Mr. Baez, Ms. Lyons and Mr. Conway, have you no sense of decency? Stop these tactics. Our system of justice, its participants and the rest of the citizens observing this case deserve better.
