Crackdown exposes Toledo as a hub of teen prostitution

"I know the FBI is concentrating on Toledo, and I know Toledo is one of the top cities in the country for teen prostitution," said Celia Williamson, a University of Toledo professor known nationally for research of prostitutes.
Deb Hodges, a top Lucas County Juvenile Court official, agreed: "We had one of the federal investigators tell us that Toledo was the No. 1 recruiting spot in the United States. ... It was mind-boggling."
Until recently, it was also largely undetected.

I always think of Gina Dejesus and Amanda. I can't believe Amanda has been gone for 9 years and would be 26 today. I pray she will be found. I pray her loved ones get peace.
Does anyone think that Amanda and Gina's cases are connected, possibly also to human trafficking?

Authorities Search for Amanda Berry's Remains
Local tv has live coverage this morning of the FBI digging at a vacant lot on the west side of Cleveland, searching for the remains of Amanda Berry. The dig is located near W. 30th & Wade.

An inmate in Cuyahoga County jail has given officials information about where the missing girls remains are located. They're not sure how reliable the information is, but are checking anyway.

She needs to be brought home no matter what! I am hoping we find her, but I also had hopes she'd come home alive. Bittersweet either way.

This says that the inmate and Amanda were friends. He claims to have been a first hand participant in her disappearance.

Sadly, for the family, they didn't find anything. They dug up the whole lot and ended their search this afternoon. No remains were found.

Looks like he's headed back to Lucasville. I wonder if he really does know where she is? Sending the FBI on a dead end search won't help his chances of getting out of prison early. Dumb.

I wonder if there was any credibility at all. Did he ever take a polygraph test? I really stili think Amanda was taken by someone she knew on the walk home from burger king!

inmate gets four years for false tip on Amanda Berry:

A prison inmate has been sentenced to 4½ years after admitting he provided a false burial tip in the 2003 disappearance of a 16-year-old Ohio girl.
A judge in Cleveland sentenced 26-year-old Robert Wolford on Tuesday on his guilty plea to obstruction of justice, making a false report and making a false alarm.
Last summer, he tipped authorities to look for the remains of Amanda Berry of Cleveland in a city lot. He was brought to the location, which was dug up with backhoes.
