Canada-Kingston-Allan Mott's Remains - Feb 2010

Body found in gully

http://www.thewhig.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=2385138

After hours of work by forensic identification officers painstakingly documenting and photographing a stretch of Station Road yesterday, police and firefighters removed a body from a gully in the northern part of the city.
The body was found down a 10-metre embankment halfway between Hwy. 15 and the CN railway tracks. Thick brush and trees filled the area. The body was on the north side of the road along a rising stretch bordered by a line of wooden guideposts.
Police said last night they would be releasing no details of their investigation.
Yellow police caution tape was strung the length of the posts and also blocked off Station Road.
A police cruiser sat at the intersection with Hwy. 15, turning away cars. A second cruiser blocked off Station Road at the CN tracks.
Two police identification officers, originally in their normal uniform and later in white coveralls, spent all morning and part of the afternoon videotaping and photographing the scene. They worked their way up the side of the road collecting potential evidence and placing it in paper bags.

The search continues for Belleville woman, Jessica Lloyd. Our stations have received countless calls wondering about a body found in north Kingston yesterday. People were obviously concerned the body was that of Jessica, however, Kingston Police confirmed this afternoon that the body discovered in woods north of the 401 was that of an adult male. The corpse is now in Ottawa for forensic identification

STRATHROY CARADOC, Ont. - The discovery of human remains along the shoreline of a river in southwestern Ontario has provincial police investigating.

Sgt. Mark Campbell from the Strathroy Caradoc police services says a person was out walking by the Thames River when they came across the remains and called local authorities.

The cause of death is unknown, but the remains have been sent to the London Health Sciences Centre for a forensic examination.

Provincial police are assisting the local police with the investigation and are asking anyone with information to contact authorities.
