Parkersburg authorities are searching for a missing 16-year-old girl and they're asking for your help in finding her.

Detectives with the Parkersburg Police Department say 16-year-old Mercedes McCormick went missing Wednesday afternoon.

She's a resident of Pressley Ridge and was being taken to a dentist appointment, when she ran from staff members.

Detectives say she was last seen at the truck stop in Mineral Wells.

Mercedes is a white female, 5'4" and she weighs 130 pounds.

She has brown eyes and brown hair and she wears glasses.

According to the Parkersburg Police 16-year-old Mercedes McCormick was found in Jackson by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

The teen went missing Wednesday afternoon after a dentist visit in Parkersburg.

McCormick was in the states custody at Pressley Ridge in Wood County.
