BUCKHANNON -- Investigators are still searching for a missing 23-year-old Buckhannon man, after ground and river searches were conducted Sunday night through Monday afternoon.
Joey Rosencrance has been missing since 2 p. m. on Sunday, Feb. 28, after his wife dropped him off on Island Avenue to go fishing, according to Buckhannon Police.
Searchers have combed the riverbanks in the area near where he lived, and extended the search to the North Buckhannon area, said Officer Mark Stewart.
They have also searched from the Poe Bridge on Marion Street to just past the campus of West Virginia Wesleyan College, stated Stewart.
Stewart said he could see footprints leading down the riverbank to a sandbar in the river, and then heading back up the bank.
The Buckhannon Fire Department used two boats to search for him Monday afternoon, but couldn't find him.
Rosencrance’s family became concerned about him when he did not contact them by 8:30 p. m. Sunday, and their concern increased when they learned that he had not shown up for his 3 a. m. shift at Wendling International.
If you have any information on the investigation, contact the Buckhannon Police Department at 304-472-5723, or the Upshur County Comm. Center at (304) 472-9550.
