What if she was a prostitute out of southern tahoe or stateline? That could explain the being outin the middle of no where at night.

Library downtown was closed today so I composed interview questions for a cold call today to mills lane. Hopefully the good judge is well enough to speak or set up a real time when we could talk.

Ok, here is what we got, this is all on the record.




The Sheriff worked with the German government on this case due to the medical examiner mentioning her immunization scar and dental work was similar to his German wife's own.

Her DNA is on file along with her dental.

I asked about VISAs being checked and the detective said to check them they need a name, so I feel none were checked as close as they could have been.

A one piece bathing suit.

The top of her bathing suit was pulled down under the blouse. No comment on possible sexual assault.

Had stretch marks on her stomach. (Weight loss or pregnancy?)

In July there was still plenty of snow at the crime scene.

Two sets of foot prints in the snow led to the crime scene and one set were found walking away.

Was found by a father and child first, then a couple on a trail with very little foot traffic.

It was mentioned by the couple and father and son she looked to be sleeping.

Amber Scholz was ruled out.

The father and son stopped to play in the snow and stretch their legs, so I take it she was not far from the highway.

They checked with casinos going back 6 months in foreign employee's work histories. All checked out and were located. But believed to not be a casino employee.

I feel it was biased from the start regarding the M.E. comparing it to his wife. My Russian girlfriend has the same scar. I went to school with US kids who have it. HOWEVER the dental is the clincher. They said it was German dental work.

What is more interesting is the snow in the middle of July. It does get cold there, but I haven't seen snow up there like what was described to the degree of footprints and being able to play in the snow. I would figure on at least a few inches left.

No tattoos, no jewelery or anything of that nature. No signs of drug use or other scars than the 4-5 inch one. As mentioned above she did have the stretch marks which makes me wonder if she hadn't lost weight recently as her clothes were sized medium and she was 5'5" and 115 pounds.

Ideas?

German dental work? Well that makes more sense.

I was very iffy about her being Eastern Bloc unless the dental work was very clearly such, because in 1982 we didn't have a lot of people of her age making it out of Russia, Poland etc. Not impossible mind you, all sorts of things happened, spies, refugees, people who got visas because strings were pulled, just very very unlikely compared to nowadays.

German dental work? that's a far cry from "Eastern European dental work". Unless they mean "East German".

Based on the two sets of footprints going in, and one set going out, one can infer that she knew her attacker. Or at least, she wasn't ambushed by someone lurking in the woods.

I think that the top pulled down under her blouse was probably just a more comfortable way to wear the swimsuit while she had clothing over it. But it doesn't seem to make sense that she was going to go swimming when there was snow on the ground.

Now the weather was warm too, Rindi you brought up the almanac. It was in the high 80s and low 90s. Now up on the mountain it does get cold. She possibly did go swimming with someone or met someone.

He gave me his email and I will drop him a line once ever week or so and then just get more and more familiar. I explained who I was and what I was trying to do and he had a sound of unease like, he wasn't sure he could trust me yet. So it is just a matter of still being honest and straightforward.

I am going to continue to pursue this.

On second thought, she could have been escorted at gunpoint into the area by an unknown assailant. But then, under such circumstances I wouldn't be thinking about stopping to tie my shoes.

It's a little hard to explain to people until they see it for themselves, Carl, but in that area it is NOT unusual for snow to remain in the mountains all YEAR LONG. Until the next snow.
It's even been known to snow up there in JULY. (Mark Twain wrote about that phenomenon in "Roughing It".) I've been up there in all summer months and it's sort UN-usual if you DON"T see at least a little snow on the peaks.
That particular meadow is at the summit --- then you drop down into the basin to Lake Tahoe which sits below. I'll see if I can find a good photo that shows this.

Re: the stretchmarks: either she lost a LOT of weight or she carried a baby to full term. Which might account for the abdomen scar. (c-section).

I find that hard to believe for two reasons:
1. She was shot in the back of the head. I can't see a woman doing that.
2. This was not a short woman. She was 5'5. From the post mortem photo, and from what I've read about the "photo shopping" it looks like the bullet went into an area sort of the top of the head, and out through the eye/temple where it looks photo shopped. That's a tall woman killer. Or am I forgetting something???
