Bath County: 5 killed after plane crash at Ingalls Field Airport in Hot Springs, Virginia. Authorities report that the aircraft accommodated two pilots and three passengers, among them a young child. Wildfire with 100 yards of Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado

It was extremely windy in this section of the country on Sunday... 25-35 mph wind with gusts approaching 70 mph and not a one-directional speed air, more chaotic and turbulent.

I wonder if this played a big role in the crash.

So sad to see people perish like this.

Are there any social media posts as to who this might have been?

So the plane crashed on its final approach? What could have happened? Bird strike perhaps?

@prariewind, I live in Virginia about 50 miles as a crow flies from that airport. Winds were horrible on Sunday. Gusts up to 60 mph with swirling eddies and a lot of turbulence.

I am guessing that the problem was wind related. Especially coming down to land to the top of a mountain like that airport is laid out.

I think I am right wind play a large role.
