Details in Koenig case remain under wraps
Federal prosecutors say it will be at least a couple of weeks before much new information about the abduction and killing of 18-year-old Samantha Koenig becomes public.
An FBI forensic dive team discovered her body Monday under the ice at Matanuska Lake, north of Anchorage in the Mat-Su Borough near the intersection of the Glenn and Parks highways.
Anchorage police and FBI agents are jointly investigating the case.

Community mourns murdered barista Samanth Koenig
The news of Samantha Koenig’s murder has hit the Anchorage community hard, especially the coffee lovers who she served at Common Grounds Espresso, including Barry and Shirley Blumenthal.

The Blumenthals heard the news on their car radio that Samantha’s body had been found.

Israel Keyes Charged with Kidnapping Resulting in Death of Samantha Koenig
Keyes, previously described as “the main player” in Samantha Koenig’s abduction, is now facing federal charges of kidnapping resulting in the 18-year-old barista's death.
Charging documents filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Anchorage also list a count of receipt and possession of ransom money against Keyes, 34, as well as an existing count of access device fraud.

The man charged in the kidnapping and killing of an 18-year-old Anchorage barista attempted to dash out of a federal courtroom Wednesday but was tackled by U.S. marshals before he reached the door.

During what was supposed to be a routine court hearing Wednesday in a notorious Anchorage murder case, defendant Israel Keyes vaulted over the courtroom railing into the spectator area and was wrestled to the ground by deputy marshals, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. They used a Taser to shock and subdue him.

Courtroom erupts as defendant tries to flee Alaska barista trial
A hearing in the case of Israel Keyes, accused of kidnapping and murdering Anchorage barista Samantha Koenig, strayed far from routine Wednesday as Keyes attempted to break for the door before being subdued by a half dozen U.S. marshals and courtroom bailiffs. A taser was deployed.

The hearing, a discussion about whether or not to declare the case complex and to set a timeline for trial, had been proceeding routinely. Keyes sat mostly motionless as Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank Russo discussed the possibility of the government seeking the death penalty.

I'm disappointed to find like with so many other threads, a lot of the links and videos are gone. What a loss for those of us who wanted to read about/see some of these older cases. :(
