Can anyone think of a reason why Avery hid his connection to the appointment other than these 2?

The leadup to Halbach's murder

I noted how it was Steven Avery's idea to list Barbs van not hers. When he told her he wanted to list it they had an argument because she did not want to sell it and she would not pay the fee. He told her he would pay and was going to list it anyway. He told police a different story though, he told police she came to him to list it and that he agreed to loan her the money for it.

In the past Steven Avery had scheduled appointments to sell vehicles that belonged to his sister and her significant other. For those appointments Steven indicated the vehicle belonged to them but that he was the one the photographer would receive the ad and money from. As a result his phone number was attached to the entry for the Janda file. That is why Dawn was unable to find an entry for Barb's phone number and had to create a new entry.

The number on exhibit 19 is Avery's landline which actually was in Jodi's name. In Zellner's post conviction motion she admits this number was his landline:

The reason why it was "linked" to Tom Janda's account is because Steven made that appointment, told AT he was handling it for Janda and he was the one who would meet the photographer (Halbach) and provide the ad and money. So he didn't conceal his role in that transaction but rather fully disclosed it.

The appointment prior to October 31 (October 10) Avery did not schedule through Auto Trader. He called Halbach's cell phone and scheduled it directly with her, that is why it was not on the sheet Auto Trader faxed but rather written in by hand.

The million dollar question is why Avery diverged from his past behavior and concealed his role. Why didn't he schedule the appointment again with Halbach directly which as clear as day would have revealed his involvement? Why didn't he reveal to Auto Trader that he was handling the transaction like he did the last time he listed a vehicle for Janda? He actually created a problem by not revealing his role. Auto Trader called Janda's unmanned number to say the appointment could be completed that day. Avery had to call up again to ask them because the call did not go to him. Moreover, he had to keep watch for her to arrive since she would go to the Janda house for payment and the ad. She would not know to go to Avery's house. He got so antsy while looking out his window waiting for her that he actually called her cell to ask if she was coming. He used *67 though to conceal that he was the caller.

I can only think of 2 plausible reasons for Avery concealing his role.

1) Either he intended to rape and kill her from the outset and wanted his name no where on any of the paper work so police would not recognize any link to him when they investigated it or

2) he feared she would not agree to show up if she knew he personally scheduled it. There is no way to know for sure which of these is the case. We don't know in full what happened during the last visit only that Halbach was creeped out thus it is entirely possible he did it because he feared she would not show up. Indeed Steven Avery scheduled the prior visit directly with Halbach he did not go through Auto Trader. The decision to go through Auto Trader instead of scheduling it directly with her could only have the same 2 possible reasons. Either he feared she would not agree to come or he intended to attack her from the outset and wanted to conceal his connection thus didn't want his phone number on her records or his.

Can anyone else think up a logical reason why Avery would opt to conceal his role in the appointment other than these 2 reasons?
