My question is has Asa's status now changed from being labeled a "victim" of her husband who is criminally charged of being the serial killer of 4 women to her being an ally of her husband who is criminally charged of killing 4 women?
IMO: She's not "withholding judgement" when she claims Rex is not capable of having killed 4 women and she hasn't yet heard all the evidence that will be presented at trial which is her reason for saying that she is "withholding judgment" and giving him the "benefit of the doubt" when she already judged him as being innocent.



"Though Ellerup filed for divorce shortly after Heuermann was arrested, she visits him weekly in prison and “still maintains that Rex is not capable of the crimes he is accused of,” per her attorney."

I get the feeling she's a paid actor on a stage, performing a role that may or may not reflect her own knowledge and belief. She's not under oath. There's no penalty I know of to prevent her performance.

We don't know and may never know anything about that upsetting image but it has been suggested that the daughter who is somewhat of an artist may have done it.

IMO: The only appropriate place for an image like that is in the police file of a battered woman to be used as evidence against the defendant.

I am so curious as to what Melissa Moore (Happy Face's daughter) has to say about the Peacock deal and now that Asa is saying that Rex isn't capable of having killed the 4 women.
So far I have not found any statements from Moore.

Moore started the fundraiser for Asa after meeting her and her kids but suspended donations after the news hit that Asa signed with Peacock.
I wonder if Moore is part of the Peacock documentary too?

That's pretty much what Josh Zeman said when he was discussing it with Joe Giacalone on his YouTube show. Agreed, that's what it looks like, too. It seriously feels like watching an actor. While I know she's desperate for money, this seems a very... unusual (?) direction to take to raise financial resources in this set of circumstances. I don't think AE has done herself any favors by entering into this arrangement, despite the obvious financial rewards. She's involved in a very, very grim, ugly, complicated, and deathly serious situation that has had, and will continue to have, life-or-death consequences for a lot of people. And she is in the midst of that, in a pivotal role as spouse of a murder suspect now in custody who if guilty, has done unspeakably horrible things to his victims. This isn't a time when people are going to appreciate fluff and meaningless hollow statements, especially from her, in her position. She may suffer from trying to convert her very serious situation into reality tv. But we'll see how it plays out.

Someone had best tell Asa that the odds are her hubby will most likely make a plea deal and not go to trial when push finally comes to shove.

JMO, Asa’s words and actions are orchestrated by her attorneys and her husband’s. I think she has personal knowledge of some, if not all of the murders. Contrary to what they may think, it’s not going to help Rex H. There’s too much evidence against him.

There’s so much about these actions and statements that look like “damage control”. The close association of all these defense attorneys to the Suffolk County prosecutor’s office is important. There’s something they’re hiding, JMO. Perhaps there’s something problematic Rex H (and possibly his wife) are threatening to reveal, resulting in all the unusual arrangements for Asa.

Its all under a media microscope, so everyone is proceeding carefully. JMO, they want to try and convict Rex as quickly as possible while controlling what’s publicly revealed. John Ray has a good idea of what they’re trying to hide. JMO

Absolutely! It seems, they (the Heuermans) may know a lot about about quite a few people in LE, the legal system and Suffolk political positions.
 

When will one of the reporters who speak with Macedinio about Asa ask him why he and Asa never address the evidence collected by LE on Rex's computer searches and burner phones?​

In the Feb. 14 demand letter, Heuermann defense attorney Danielle Coysh argued the superseding indictment charging the Manhattan architect with multiple murder counts does not provide enough information for him to properly prepare his defense.“Every count of the indictment merely repetitively parrots statutory language alleging Mr. Heuermann ‘caused the death’ of each victim,” Coysh wrote. “This language is so vague and nonspecific as to be virtually meaningless, leaving Mr. Heuermann in complete ignorance of the substance of accusations against him.”

In the bill of particulars prosecutors wrote that they do believe Heuermann acted alone and that the cause of each woman’s death was “homicidal violence.” Prosecutors further state that the time and place of each death is contained in the grand jury minutes and other discovery materials, though they stopped short of providing more specific details.As for how prosecutors maintain the four deaths were part of a common scheme, Lee wrote that each victim was a sex worker in their 20s advertising their services online and that they were all contacted by burner phones utilized in locations consistent with Heuermann’s whereabouts.

The prosecutor also argued that the remains were discovered "completely nude" and bounded within close proximity to each other, that five hairs connected to Heuermann or a family member were recovered from three of the four sets of remains and that “each victim’s disappearance and murder occurred at times when defendant’s wife and children were traveling out of state.”

Heuermann has been held without bail at the Suffolk County Jail since his arrest. He is due back before State Supreme Court Justice Timothy Mazzei for a conference April 17.

People are charged and convicted of murder w/o the body having been found.

Yep, the prosecution listed the evidence for each victim in that document, including Rex's burner cell phone locations, time of call to victim, etc. JMO, that's sufficient for a conviction.

Defense teams will always say things in the news media to make it seem the prosecution is lying, doesn't have enough evidence, is hiding exculpatory evidence, etc, etc. That's a typical defense strategy.
