In court Friday, a judge sentenced Lyons to 16 years, with 10 years executed in the Indiana Department of Correction and 6 years suspended. The sentence included 3 years of probation, along with substance abuse and mental health evaluation and treatment. He was given credit for time already served.

Despite not knowing Amiah’s whereabouts, the court noted he could have provided useful information. Amiah Robertson disappeared on March 9, 2019; her mother reported her missing a week later.

"The one question we all want the answer to is: Where’s Amiah?" Marion County Deputy Prosecutor Linda Majors said in court.

"The fact of the matter is we still have no idea where Amiah is, and the last person to know where she was is not revealing any information about that."

When asked if he wished to make a statement in court, Lyons declined. He was remanded into the custody of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and ordered transferred to the Indiana Department of Correction to begin his sentence.

Prosecutors revealed a key piece of evidence in court during Lyons' hearings: Detectives found baby clothes soaked in Amiah's blood at the babysitter's house on South Holmes Avenue.

In April 2019, police dug up the backyard and searched with cadaver dogs but were unable to locate Amiah's body.

In court Friday, Lyons had another chance to say what happened to Amiah before the judge handed down the sentence.

"The fact that there hasn’t been additional information that could be provided reflects upon how much responsibility he is actually taking," Kern said

I wonder how the bloody clothing was explained away.

@FrostedGlass - just going thru some old ones I have in March - and checking to see if Robertson might have a hearing before jury selection on 6/21/24? TIA! :)

10 year sentence and no explanation of what happened and where little Amiah's remains are is just not enough IMO.

@FrostedGlass - just checking to see if jury selection (6/21/24) is still next or does she have any hearings before than? TIA!
