GUILTY IN - Salem, Washington Co, BlkMale 5-8, PMI approx 1 week, wooded area near roadway, Apr'22 - Cairo Ammar Jordan *1 guilty* *Mother arrested 2024*

WASHINGTON COUNTY, INDIANA, Ind. — The woman charged in the death of a boy, whose body was found in a suitcase in southern Indiana, is pleading guilty as part of a plea deal.

Dawn Coleman, who is from Louisiana, was charged with aiding, inducing or causing murder, neglect of a dependent resulting in death, and obstruction of justice. 13News is working to get a copy of the plea agreement to see what charges she is pleading guilty to and how much time in prison is suggested.

They added the change of plea hearing into the record after I posted it. So I'm going back to include it for you. I think they must have a new person doing the entries because the entry for 11/02 is just odd.
The important issues are they added another count and her sentencing is 11/21.

@Niner I'm looking for the news source that will be covering the hearing live. If I find it, I'll post it. Here's her plea deal:

"13News received a copy of the plea that shows the defense and prosecution agreed to 25 years in prison with five years of probation. She also got a year-and-a-half credit for time served.
As part of the plea agreement, Coleman would have to testify against Anderson in any criminal case related to the death of Jordan."

Dawn E. Coleman, 41, was sentenced Tuesday to 30 years in prison with five years suspended to probation in connection with the death of Cairo Jordan. Coleman, of Louisiana, pleaded guilty earlier this month to a level 1 felony for conspiracy to commit murder.

Jordan’s mother, Dejuane Anderson, is facing a murder charge and remains at large.

FINALLY!!!

Nearly two years after the body of a 5-year-old boy was found in a suitcase in Southern Indiana, his mother has been apprehended and arrested in connection with his death, Indiana State Police announced Friday.

A state police detective received a tip that led to locating Anderson in California. It wasn’t clear Friday whether she has an attorney who might comment on her behalf.

“It’s a somber moment,” Sgt. Carey Huls said. “We did know that this day was going to come, but to have it come at this time and to have her in custody, I’m just excited (for the detectives). We’re all very excited, lifted up and buoyed by the fact that she’s behind bars and can be brought back to Indiana so we can continue this trail for justice for Cairo.”

Huls said detectives were traveling to California to continue their investigation. Anderson will be brought back to Indiana, he said. "

Wow. I have to admit, it had been so long, I thought she might have been deceased.

I'm glad she is not, for the sake of justice.
