And later seen by a relative at a location about 1.5 miles away.

@glamourkitty1922 mentions his headstone above although of course it may be a cenotaph. Social Security lists his death date as “June 1963”.

Was he possibly found? If so, the newspapers don’t seem to mention it.

At first we are told that Martin went for his regular morning walk at 5-6am. But then the later articles say he wandered away from home at 8am and was later seen by a relative. "Wandering away" give the impression of being a bit dazed and confused whereas going for his morning constitutional is something different so it woukd be important to establish which is true.

I would think so. He disappeared in June so not freezing cold even in Minneapolis. A lake is not flowing water so I imagine it should have surfaced within a week or two?
