Circumstances of Disappearance:
Miller was last seen in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska on June 8, 1940. He was an employee of a power company and was working on the dam at the time. He and two other workers had climbed a suspension bridge around 11:00 p.m. to open the flood gates following a heavy rain when the side of the swinging bridge they were standing on gave way. The other two men were able to cling to the bridge, but Miller was pulled off balance and fell into the river. Witnesses believe he struck his head as he fell.

There were reports of a body seen in the river between Cedar Rapids and Belgrade, but his body has never been recovered. He is believed to have drowned.

***Nance County Sherriff's Department is doing the investigation for the missing persons and remains. It should be noted that Mr. Miller went missing in Boone County Nebraska.
