Missing Black and brown people rarely get media attention, group says. Here are 18 who vanished in N.J.
A 5-year-old who disappeared from a park. A teenager who went to the bank and never came home. A young mother who never arrived to pick up her toddler from the babysitter. The Black & Missing Foundation was created to highlight cases involving people of color that often don't get much news coverage.

Anwar Green was 19 when he was reported missing Jan. 19, 2001, in Newark. He was last seen on surveillance camera at Independence Community Bank at Broad and Academy streets in downtown Newark.
Green and a friend, Rahim Martin, were from Hillside in Union County and had gone to cash a large check Martin had received related to an auto accident, officials said.
Foul play is suspected in Green’s disappearance, according to the Black & Missing Project.
A body found in a burned-out Newark house in 2001 was positively identified as Martin in May 2010, officials with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and Hillside Police Department confirmed last week.
Martin’s death was labeled a homicide and remains under investigation, according to the prosecutor’s office. Green is still listed as missing.
