Pennsylvania State Police say the deceased person was wearing a light gray sweatshirt, white t-shirt, dark gray jogging pants, and tan and gray size 11 men's shoes with white soles and gray socks.

The male is approximately 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-2, and weighs approximately 175 to 225 pounds, state police said.

 
A hunter from Port Carbon on the scene told 28/22 News, that three bowhunters were in the area when a body was discovered 250 yards into the woods off a dirt road.

 
Many individuals have speculated if the body is missing 28-year-old Pottsville man, Zachary Vidal.
He has been missing since Oct. 22, 2022. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a red shirt, a tan jacket and an Oakley baseball-style hat.

An autopsy performed Tuesday at the Dauphin County Forensic Center, Harrisburg, determined that “there was no sign of trauma” to the body found Jan. 11 in East Norwegian Twp., Schuylkill County Coroner Dr. David J. Moylan III said Thursday.
Moylan described the body as “badly decomposed” and definitely that of a male.

Dr. Dennis Dirkmaat, chair of the department of applied forensic services at Mercyhurst University, Erie, was sent parts of the skeleton, including teeth.

 
Late Tuesday, March 26th, 2024, the Schuylkill Haven Barracks released that they have identified the victim as 51-year-old Walter Gera.

They reported that they were able to identify Gera through dental and medical records. State Police report that no foul play was suspected in the investigation.
