A three-part investigative audio series examining the relationship between vulnerable populations and law enforcement. In this series, The Long Island Advocate’s Alexandra Whitbeck looks at the unsolved Gilgo Murders by the Long Island Serial Killer to better understand how sex workers are policed on the Island and in New York State. The series discusses the legal, political and social questions faced by sex workers after the murders, which left many fearing for their lives.

This is the first article I've read that the GILGO 4 were in fact, dismembered. Is this accurate? Also, I've wondered if it was truly burlap bags, or just something like a roll that they were wrapped in.

It depends on who you ask.

Law enforcement claims the case is being worked on a daily basis, but to the public who until only two years ago saw no evidence of law enforcement activity, more time has been wasted than has been utilized. One can only hope the current silence means activity behind the scenes.
