On the evening of Oct 8th 2016 Benjamin (Ben) Jernigan was found slumped over the center consul of his car with a single gun shot wound to the chest. After spending the evening out with friends at a local Knoxville bar Ben drove home around 2:30-3am. As his car drove over the train tracks a short walk from his house, the car stalled. The police believe he was trying to fix the car when his killer attacked. At or around 5:30am Knoxville Police Department received a call about a car blocking the train tracks near Fairfax and Forsyth. When the police arrived they discovered Ben's body.

After canvassing the neighborhood and train tracks multiple times over the following years the police are seeking the communities help.

The car was blocking the oncoming traffic lane just past the tracks. In reference to picture the left side of the road on the north side of tracks.
