Police re-interview parents, others as one year mark in Joshua Davis Jr. case approaches
It’s been nearly a year since the disappearance of Joshua Davis Jr., a New Braunfels toddler that made national headlines when he apparently vanished one cold night in early February of last year.
And with that 1-year mark of his disappearance approaching, New Braunfels Police are taking the opportunity to re-interview the boy’s parents and others that were in the house the night he disappeared.

New Braunfels baby now missing for one year
It's been almost one year since the disappearance of "Baby Joshua" and on Wednesday night, the family's fellow congregations members are holding a special vigil for them.
Saturday marks a year when 18-month-old Joshua Davis Jr. disappeared from the family's home in New Braunfels.
At that time, New Braunfels police, the Texas Rangers and the FBI were leading a search for the toddler.

'Baby Joshua' vanished one year ago
It's been one year since Joshua Davis, Jr. disappeared from his family's home in New Braunfels.
On Saturday, family members and close friends gathered at the Heidi Search Center to mark the anniversary and to pray for his safe return.
"We all need to have faith. I know right now it's a trying time. I know we are being tested, but you have to pull through," said Natalie Vargas, Joshua's grandmother.

That’s when the investigation shifted to other theories, including speculation about abduction and accusations that the toddler’s parents, or other family members, or parent’s friends may have been involved in some way.

In the 3 years since his disappearance, New Braunfels Police officials have kept the investigation open, interviewing and re-interviewing the nine family members and friends that were inside the house the night of the boy's disappearance.

“The story that never comes up is that the police and FBI failed to investigate him.”

Ferguson in 2016 said police twice interviewed the friend, now 29 and from New Braunfels, who the Herald-Zeitung will not identify because he has not been charged in connection with the case.

“At the time he was one of several persons of interest in the house that evening,” he said. “He voluntarily spoke with investigators on two occasions and with his lawyer on a third occasion. He was not considered a suspect because we believe he was not there at the time of the disappearance.”

In March 2018, that man was arrested in Gonzales, Louisiana, where he was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated criminal damage to property and first-degree attempted murder. The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office website on Friday indicated he has remained in the parish jail since then without bond.

So, father's friend is not considered a POI? Sounds like a lot of bad blood between Josh's family and law enforcement, but sounds like LE didn't take the parents' concern about the friend seriously. JMO...

Person with same name as someone with same name and same age at the Davis's party is still in jail in Ascension Parish, LA...(Gonzales, LA)
