I couldn't find any discussion on this over at the blackboard either. Main discussion is about the van sightings and exactly what questions were asked.

Makes you wonder where the boys were getting these ideas from.

I'm more interested in the content of that link in the OP however.

I'm still just a bit freaked by that. And really surprised that I never have seen this discussed, especially in light of the speculation regarding the boys being 'sexualised' and such.

gheckso - it sure does make me wonder.. mainly, if somebody had been grooming these kids.

But I was mainly wondering if anyone had ever refuted it (like Ryan maybe), or if there was discussion of it somewhere, or- something. It seems like a pretty bombshell sort of comment for a kid to make.

Bizarre. I'm really scratching my head over this one. These are two vastly different accounts of the same event. Chad says Michael and Chris both had their pants down and looked like they were having sex. Damon says Michael had his pants down and was "poo pooing" on the ground. In the notes of Damon's account, it says that "Chad was in front of him and possibly saw more or something different than he did", but surely they talked to each other about what they had just seen?

Chad also states that he and Ryan walked in on Christopher masturbating.

Ryan's statement (THANKYOU for the links, btw) backs up Damon's, as far as the poo goes. Though I'm wondering atm if these were not two separate events? The cast who actually goes to the back of the school changes, as well as who did and saw what. Ryan did not witness the poo event according to himself and Damon, but is present for Chad's story. In Ryan's version there's a 'Smith' but not in the two other versions - in Ryan's they were also throwing the poo, but this isn't mentioned in the two others.

The three stories contain many of the same elements, though, enough to make me doubtful of two events. But hm. Dunno.

The Byers apparently had some concern over whether Christopher was being molested by somebody, due to some disturbing behaviour around that time (and that one of the many local pedos had been doing repairs for the Byers and paying too much attention to Chris..). I'd really like some direct quotes/links for that - Mark Byers discussed it in his book, but I am not purchasing that, so hopefully somebody has a copy and can tell us.

I remember reading it and being shocked but thinking they were just too young for that kind of stuff. Then when I read the incident of poo pooing, I assumed that the other report just mistook what was going on (though poo pooing in public is still strange behavior). I had marked it down as something that stood out but never saw anything further discussed. If the Bell account is anywhere near accurate, one truly has to wonder where 8 year olds pick this up from. I'm no specialist in the area for sure, just a parent, but such thought, much less acting out on the thoughts, were no where near entering my kids' minds at 8 years old. They would have had to have been "taught" those things by someone older IMO and that is concerning in and of itself.

I was thinking the same things, reedus. IF the sexual parts of the accounts are true.

Kids at 8 can be.. well, my own was a handful, to say the least, and her homelife was about as 'interesting' as a doorstop, by comparison .. She really shocked me a couple of times with the stuff she pulled. Too smart for her own britches, and a few dodgy friends... You know, one morning she was out early, playing with some neighbourhood kids, and a man arrived in our yard with a 12-foot rowboat. I was 'WTFboat!' - and he told me that my daughter had talked him down from $100 to $10 for it, at the yard sale up the street, and asked me where I wanted it. Sadly 'gone' was not an option. And how can I forget the very detailed and almost anatomically correct comic book she made (and took to SCHOOL) titled 'My Best Friend's Brother's Penis" - she walked in on the poor kid in the bathroom, nothing skeezy at all, but Omg, I died a little. Anyway (sorry, sidetracked) I so get that 8 year olds can be very.. inventive.. when it comes to mischief. Ie, poo-flinging..

Masturbating and the other thing is something -else- entirely, however, as you rightly said.

I wish I knew what had Melissa Byers thinking her son had been molested.

If Christopher and Michael were "new additions" to the pedophile ring that I speculate could have existed at the time in West Memphis, it could explain the masturbating and/or simulated sex. (The poo-flinging isn't really as disturbing to me because I've heard of too many young boys doing the same thing!) I remember the first year I taught school I car pooled with a first grade teacher. She showed us a deck of cards she took from one of her male students. When the cards were "flipped" quickly, they showed a couple having sex. The year was 1970! I was shocked. I don't think every eight-year-old knows about sex, but some do. So, it could have come from peers, but I'm inclined to believe that, given the community mores, it most probably came from an adult. I agree that we need to know about this, but I'm not sure how to find out. I've heard that Ryan Clark doesn't want to discuss the case.
