I'm thinking of Avonte on this bitter cold Thanksgiving :-(
Me too MrsG... Avonte's been gone for so long now, but I never give up hope. Never.
I keep praying and hoping for a miracle here.

I'll weigh in on my upset with NYC and the DOE later. It's Thanksgiving Day today, so let's all do our best to see what we DO have to be thankful for, like our ability to see and read this, hold onto hope and pray for Avonte, his family and the many other missing/murdered and their families. Let us all stop to be thankful for what we have.
While i'm here, I am thankful for Websleuths! ~ Bless you all ~

I'm watching the Macy's parade, hoping to see an Avonte flyer.

I'm still praying they find Avonte. Does anyone know what's going on now? Any new leads?

This is so sad. I don't think that Avonte will ever be found. He must have fallen into the river and was swept out to sea. I think about him every day. Prayers for his family during this glorious season.

If I may please bump Avonte up. Any new leads? What's going on to find him now?

Hi Ms. Suzanne, Thank you for bumping up Avonte and keeping the search for his safe return alive! :) This is the latest I have heard, I am trying to confirm it:

According to Avonte Oquendo's brother @KingDetrick, the FBI has taken over the investigation #FINDAVONTE "

Apparently Avonte's brother, Danny Aquendo Jr, posted the news about the FBI takeover of the Avonte Oquendo case on his Instagram. I think his handle is King Detrick on Instagram also (it is @KingDetrick on Twitter).
If anyone has the Instagram link PLEASE post it on this thread, thank you! :)

Vanessa Fontaine wants just one thing this Christmas – to see her son, Avonte Oquendo, smiling and excitedly opening his gifts. Fontaine has hope that her missing son will soon be home.

“After all, this is the season of miracles,” Fontaine said. But beneath Fontaine’s stoic appearance there is so much sadness – a sadness shared only by mothers of missing children." http://www.qgazette.com/news/2013-12-11/Features/Mom_Pleads_For_Avonte.html

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bring-Avonte-Home/414437158656906 "#BringAvonteHome The Christmas Holiday is only two weeks away. As you spend hours and hours preparing for activities and celebrations PLEASE make a commitment to set aside even one of those hours to help support efforts to find Avonte. Think about it - YOU could be the one to help find this sweet child and bring him home to the family that is painfully aching for his safe return. Help create a Christmas Miracle for the Oquendos.

Anyone wishing to volunteer in the search for Avonte may do so by calling the search headquarters at (718) 606-6610, by visiting the command post headquarters at at 21-81 A 24th Street and by helping to spread awareness by sharing missing flyers, updates and posts from the page. We have also been informed that Avonte's mother has created a Facebook page titled, "Official Help Find Avonte" where you can go for information coming directly from the family. PLEASE please help in any way you can!" #findAVONTE

Did the FBI really take his case to find Avonte. Are they finding out anything?
