Which is why 'only a chipped tooth' is so strange.

Unfortunately, like his car crash "tactic" buying him time, the fact that Allison was not found for 11 days has obscured whatever violence took her life. The best evidence we have of a struggle is on GBC. The autopsy lays out all the ways she may have died that cannot be ruled in or out. Personally, I think there was a struggle with her within arms length. A pillow to the face perhaps. She had a chance to scratch and bruise him.

You just know there is going to be a tsunami of evidence with this case. I think the personal evidence from Allison's daughters and friends will be even more compelling than the picture the financial details and affairs painted. There is going to be a lot of QPS's high standard forensic information. Unfortunately he will likely still be given the possibility of parole in 20 years and that pisses me off.

I know there's another Michael Byrne in the legalsphere as well - but I think the judge is John Byrne. It's not one of those extended family dynasties, like the O'Gorman one, is it?

Hate to say this but I don't think we will ever know exactly the circumstances of Allison's death. I think however we will have a lot of questions answered with witness evidence.

I also think that most of the defence case will be by way of cross examination of prosecution witnesses. When the prosecution rests their case I don't think the defence case will take very long at all.

Thanks Ali. Just seems a bit of a coincidence that in a relatively small population of barristers and judges, there are at least three with the same surname, same spelling, and two with the same first name. I would hope that if they are in any way related, the judge would declare it and withdraw.

I tend to agree about not knowing the exact way Allison died, but I suspect that the prosecution may try to push GBC into some sort of a corner where he has to "spill da beanz" - doubt it would work though. He will likely deny everything forever.

Just a few observations:
NBC can still be seen walking the dog a few times a week.
Ebc has become a bit of a recluse , they used to walk mornings and afternoons together,
The three girls used to spend every second weekend at <modsnip>
We have not seen them for about 3 months.... All interesting!!!

That's a happy visual for a grandparent, grandchildren & a dog and it's a reminder that you never know what hell and sadness people can carry.
I sincerely hope all the innocent people should go on to live a peaceful life, even though someone so significant in their lives is gone.
Can time really heal this?
I pray justice will be served soon. Unfortunately, sadly, Allison hasn't got that gift of life to experience.

The stress of this court case next week has affected so many innocent bystanders.
If only that night never happened.

Thank you Possumheart for posting this tribute to Allison. It is our reminder that she is no longer here because she was murdered allegedly by her husband GBC.

I agree with Ozazure that the murderous struggle was 'within arms reach': Allison was able to scratch the alleged murderer's face and body.

I've been an intermittent visitor to this site since mid-2012, having been directed here by a former work associate of GBC's. I believe there are several, if not many, people contributing who have more than a general curiosity about this case (as in, are directly linked to either GBC or Allison)and this, combined with the insights of people like Alioop and other legal and also medical professionals, has given the ongoing conversation fantastic value and an intelligent foundation. A big thank you from me to everyone who makes this a site worth revisiting. Can't believe the trial is finally upon us. Strap yourselves in, sleuthers!

Para 17: GBC mentioned to me on the night of the 19 April 2012 that he was thinking of selling the business.
I did ask him what he was going to do first, leave the marriage or sell the business.
He said "Leave the marriage".

Para 30:
In relation to para 37 (seems to fit more with para 17)
I had not seen GBC in person for approx 3 weeks prior to Thursday 19 April 2012.
I wanted to meet with him in person to have a better understanding of how he felt it was achievable for us to be together.
This meeting never took place.
The last time I saw GBC physically was 3 weeks before Allison disappeared.

And then the very last sentence of statement 4.
para 46: There are no security camera's in my unit block that I am aware of.

1) Did this conversation take place during that phone call about 5pm while GBC was buying sausages for dinner?

2)Did they speak again later that night by phone?

3) Did they physically see each other that night?

A lot occured in the following 10 days.

1) We know from police witness at court that TMH has made statement 5.

2) Tully blog talked of immunity and pending arrest.

3) GBC was arrested for the murder of his wife.

Then of course TMH was escorted to court.

Why was TMcH escorted to court?

Josh Rathmell was escorted to & from court in the Gittany case because he was a crucial witness or concern for his welfare.
Would this be the same reason or just to make sure she arrives.

Interesting - I'd forgotten that in one of the (many) Jayant Patel cases, John Byrne was the judge, and Michael Byrne was Patel's defence counsel. I'm assuming that GBC's Michael Byrne would be the same one, so these two have faced off in court before. And from those links, it appears Judge John Byrne doesn't take any crap from barristers....

Would be great if GBC confessed all, but as you say Doc, he's likely to stay in denial forever.

Don't be surprised if we don't get all our questions answered during the trial. When I was a juror on a murder trial, the defendant changed his plea to manslaughter before the trial ended. Didn't fool us though. However there were still a lot of questions and when sentencing him to life the judge told him to write to the murdered boy's family and answer their questions. I doubt that he would have done that.

Driving down to see the gold coast lawyer would be my guess. You can see the towers along the way on the phone records as they were travelling.
