thanks so much jellybeanz. turning up quite a bit that I think may be his online footprint. I wonder if any stockpile of weapons or food will turn up in searching the property. Survivalist interest is what I am seeing.

Some of my reading and the facts coming out in MSM about this man make me think this thing could have gone down a whole different bloodier way. SO GLAD HE RELEASED ABBY!!!!
 
He looks a lot less Frankenstein-ish in the perp walk pic above than he did in the mug shot.

Kidnapped teen Abigail Hernandez's mother will be in court when her alleged captor is arraigned Tuesday afternoon to quot;look him in the eye,quot; a family friend told NBC News.

The 15-year-old, who was reportedly kept locked up in a storage container during her nine-month ordeal, does not plan to attend the hearing for Nathaniel Kibby, 34.

I agree. He looks very normal and average to me. Mugshots always look terrible IMO.

This is a great post. It makes a lot of things fit, IMO. Being an engineer, he would be likely to know how to do many things, like soundproof a shipping container. This guy seems to be highly intelligent and well educated. Many strange types are... It almost goes together, being smart and "weird". A person who does this stuff usually has to be smart to pull it off. Many pieces in this post fit together and fit the early clues. I have a good idea of how this went down and the details of it, and my theory fits all of the known clues. This post (above) outlines my ideas. He's also smart enough to be fearful of getting caught, smart enough to know when things were getting too "hot" and smart enough to know that the penalty for what he did is a lot less serious than a penalty for murder. Which is why he brought her home (and I do think he drove her home, not someone else). All my own opinion of course.

I found that Kibby going on about an EMP-proof BOV and he had bought a 1970 Scout 800, which he uploaded pics of, but they aren't showing up on the thread.
I googled 1970 Scout 800 and wondered if it could be the car in his drive. I'm useless at car names and matching them and what not, but maybe some on here could?
