Holy Cow! I'm just shocked. Although I realize crime can happen anywhere, Cannon Beach would be about the last place I'd think of something like this happening. The teen was flown by medical helicopter to Doernbecher Children's Hospital at Oregon Health & Science University. She was out of surgery Friday night and although seriously injured, she was stabilized, according to Clatsop County District Attorney Josh Marquis.

In the small community of Goldendale, Washington, with a population of approximately 3,500, neighbors and acquaintances were shocked by the tragedy.

"It's beyond any of our understanding as to why something like that might happen," said Goldendale resident Carol Martin.

The family used to live in a mobile home several miles outside of town, but neighbors told KGW the family has since moved.
They also said Smith and her husband had separated, but KGW could not yet confirm the report.

Besides those few details, neighbors said they knew very little about the family and rarely had any interaction with them.

How did the entire thing with the disoriented woman vanish from the whole story? If she was the reason they called to begin with, well...how is she no longer even mentioned?

And who really found them dead?

The housekeeper?

Or officers? (Who, according to the account that it was them, actually responded for the disoriented lady...so if it was officers, then the disoriented lady still has to be in the equation)

Seems like it has to be the housekeeper (especially based on other articles now) but...

Strange.

I presume that the disoriented woman was the housekeeper in hysterics after having discovered the carnage.

Ok so we Hv a recent filing for divorce, and a restraining order. Even if DH alibi checks out, maybe he hired a hitman. Poss discord, maybe didn't want to pay child support. Two three major red flags here.
1) mom files RO against DAD
2) mom is possible suspect or victim of murder
3) father not on scene unknown alibi.
4) mom possible victim of husb as well as the children

The restraining order request was DENIED.

I still don't understand the scenario that played out. Did Mom do all the cutting and assaulting? Or did she escape from it or did she leave before it even happened? Or maybe she was kidnapped from the scene? Doesnt that hotel have cameras in the pking lot?

The 13-year-old who was found severely cut in a room at the Surfsand Resort on Friday is recovering at Doernbecher Children's Hospital in stable condition, police said in a news conference Saturday.

Authorities also now are saying that they don't know how her 2-year-old sister died in the same room. The child was not wounded, Chief Jason Schermerhorn told reporters, and the department is waiting for an official autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The (deceased) child was not injured... And LE is awaiting autopsy reports for cause of death...

this is puzzling....

So sorry to hear this, if it were mom, she was desperately beside herself, and more than likely suicidal now if not then.
