Yet we are to believe, according to her attorney, that LH is being harassed constantly by the media and thats why she can't go back to work.

But no pictures are being published of this 'laying on a blanket next to Cooper's grave talking on the phone to her leader husband'?

Yeah, right

It's almost like she's putting on a show hoping the media will arrive in swarms to see her, the poor, grieving mother.

MOO

I think I am going to be sick.. I find that incredibly disrespectful to baby Cooper, especially now that JRH has been indicted!!!! As always all my opinion only.

Somewhere in my logic, I tried to figure out where he thought he might do prison time that it prompted him to do a search "how to survive in prison". I do beleive he did premeditate this but he didn't think it could be detected as such, yet knew he would have to serve some time in jail for his negligence, thus his comment at the jail on the charge of murder, "but it wasn't with malice". He told on himself right then and there IMO. He'd done his homework alright but, made too many obvious mistakes for it to be believable. That particular one I was not able to make sense of until now. I do believe the DP will be put on the table. The defense team knows what they are representing here. It's their job to defend him, but they know his story such as it is will not fly.

This is so weird to me. If she believes it was an accident, then why no anger toward RH for what he did? It is almost like she just wants to pretend it never even happened at all, like she is in some strange state of denial that I can't even fathom.

DA won't seek death penalty for Justin Ross Harris
Rodney Harris, Christopher King
Sep 24, 2014 12:53 PM
COBB COUNTY (CBS46) - Justin Ross Harris doesn't know if a jury will find him guilty or not. He does know a jury won't sentence him to die.

Vic Reynolds, the Cobb County District Attorney, will not seek the death penalty against Harris.

Reynolds released the following statement Wednesday afternoon:

"After reviewing Georgia's death penalty statute and considering other factors, the State will not seek the death penalty in this case at this time. I cannot and will not elaborate at this juncture of the case.

Furthermore, due to a scheduling conflict with the defense, the State has consented to their request to postpone the arraignment until 9 a.m. on Oct. 17 before Cobb Superior Court Judge Mary E. Staley."

Justin Ross Harris is due back in court for an arraignment on Oct. 17.

BBM. I'm not a resident of Ga., but I think residents ought to be up-in-arms about not applying the DP in this premeditated, horrific/tortuous death of a defenseless 22 month old citizen by his own father. I think Ga. residents ought to demand that the prosecutor reveal what the reasonable explanation is for this change.

The charges were lowered, that is fact. The reason wasn't disclosed, but it's not hard to put two-and-two together when you read the statements that were published. Is there another reasonable explanation?

I guess some people have a issue with the death penalty, look at Jodi Arias some of the jurors had a hard time with it and yet she committed a horrible murder. I believe JRH premeditated killing his son and deserves the max sentence. I would rather the DP be taken off the table if it is going to cause some jurors to not convict him.

28 child left in car deaths so far this year. Check out this article from USA TODAY:

People....please think.

Hello all,

Just jumping in! This sure is a big list of small details. I am trying catch up, so please forgive me if I am repeating previous posters. I have followed many cases (such as the horrid horrid CA and JA cases) and I always feel like my first "gut take" on the case is often consistent with my later, "supported by the facts," opinion. I am still at the "gut-take" level in this case, so I could be wrong.

I feel like there are too many coincidentally premeditated-looking details for this to be an accident. I could accept a few, but not this many.

One little detail that gives me a major twinge is: JRH asking LH when she is going to pick up Cooper, thus establishing a record of "See? I was asking about him with a sweet tone, would a premeditated murderer do that?" I have 3 kids and when there is a change in pickup plans, my husband and I communicate along the lines of, "I can't do pickup today due to a meeting, can you do it?" It would be weird to ask my husband WHEN he is going to do it, if that plan was already made previously in the morning. I hate to sound so cold about my own sweet kids, but I don't really care when my husband is doing the pickup, if we've already established that he'll do it. We both know there is a charge for late pickup, so he'd never wait to do it after 6pm. This just feels too conveniently timed as a way to set up a "thinking about my little buddy and not killing him" vibe. I think it was done for the purposes of manipulating both LH and law enforcement. I think LE should try to identify if there is a previous pattern of JRH asking this question or using this language. It just has an off quality to it. I am also very bothered by him not seeing Cooper in the car upon leaving to go to work, dropping off the lightbulbs, or upon getting in the car to leave. Too many trips to the car without seeing or smelling, in my opinion! Poor little boy!

One more thing, since I'm feeling posty. I think the light bulb trip was either an attempt to create witnesses to him "not noticing Cooper in the car" or a botched attempt to "discover him in front of others." I think he may have bailed on that plan when the others were not close enough to create the dramatic scene or he could not bring himself to make the scene happen, yet. Also, I think I heard that he "threw" the lightbulbs in the car. Nobody throws lightbulbs ever. I think he threw them to demonstrate how fast the incident was and to create the "not noticing" documentation and detail. Again, nobody throws lightbulbs, particularly when it is the ONLY thing in the bag. Just my opinion, of course.

It makes me tearful just thinking about this, but I think he was prepared to create the "big scene" at lunch only his poor little boy was still making sounds and therefore could be revived. jmho

Me, too! So callous. Cooper deserved so much better than this.

I too think the light bulb errand was created specifically in order to get his coworkers to drop him near his car rather than the door to treehouse (office). However, I feel little Cooper was already deceased and his friends were too busy on their cell phones texting or otherwise not looking at him and pulling off too quickly for him to play out the big discovery scene as he had envisioned.

I think it was super important to him that these specific supportive friends/coworkers saw him "discover" his mistake. I think that is why movie plans after work and leaving work early happened as well. He wanted to stake out the movie parking lot, watch his friends arrive, and then pull into a space somewhere near to them.

But the flaw in the plan was when he went out to the car to head to movie theater the smells overcame him and he had to fly by the seat of his pants, pull into a random lot, draw a crown and act his little drama out.

The jury trial is scheduled to begin Jan. 12, 2015

Read more: The Marietta Daily Journal - Defense asks for 2 trials in Justin Ross Harris hot car death case

What is the chance that gets delayed? And does that mean jury selection starts Jan 12 or the actual trial? I am interested in seeing if my theory about the media coverage---there will be less if the trial happens during the winter---ends up being true.

So 'mom' has a new job now, but her biggest concern is getting their death-mobile back from the County!? If they (JRH and his wife/accomplice) were so concerned about their car payments, maybe they shouldn't have used their car to kill their son! It's a crime scene, that's why she can't have it back! I can't believe her gall. :gaah:

"Meanwhile, Lawrence Zimmerman, the Atlanta attorney representing Leanna Harris, Justin’s wife, said she’s been visiting her husband and has found a job since her husband was put in the Cobb County jail June 18. Leanna Harris has a complaint against the county, Zimmerman said.

“(Leanna Harris) just received a notice to pay for the tag on the Hyundai Santa Fe that the Cobb County Police have in their possession. We are hoping that the District Attorney’s Office or the Cobb County Police can either reimburse my client the monies she is having to pay to the finance company on a monthly basis, or return the vehicle to her so she could sell it. It is unfortunate that she is continuing to have to pay for the car note when the District Attorney will not return it to her,” Zimmerman said."

Someone's gonna buy that car with the deathly smell probably still lingering in it?
