I don't think "Manny" would have urged LM to punch himself in the face and other self-harm though. LM is claiming that "Manny" told him to do harm against others (people and animals). I think Manny was the fake-person scapegoat for all of his crimes. JMO

Defense is over now by the way and the Crown closing is tomorrow. Ugh. Hoping this would be done today.

WHAT???????????? So Leclair thinks the VIDEO will help/urge/assist the jury to find him NCR?????????? Wasn't he methodical, clear, lucid, planning, mailing, flying to Paris and Berlin, posting the vid online.......etc??????????????

I'll be a nervous wreck when the jury brings in this verdict! :scared:

Leclair never had much to work with considering the video clearly pinned Magnotta to the crime. I presume him stating that the evidence is in the video is his way of trying to convince the Jury that nobody of sound mind could commit such an act and appear 'normal' and organised thereafter.

Leclair knows that the verdict will be guilty, that I am convinced of. There is no doubt in my mind that this will be the outcome. Should the verdict be NCR .... well, there are just no words.

Mr. Leclair made similar exhortations at least eight times in his 78-minute-long address, variously telling the jurors “You don’t need psychiatric reports, you don’t have to decide which one you believe”; “You don’t need an expert to look at this [case]”; “You don’t have to follow [expert] opinions”; “Set aside the expert reports; we’re not in a fight of experts”, and, most surprisingly, “Look at the [expert] reports if you want. I can’t prevent you from doing what you want to, but according to me, it’s not the best way” to a verdict.

He told the jurors to particularly ignore the testimony of Dr. Gilles Chamberland, the forensic psychiatrist called by prosecutor Louis Bouthillier.

Dr. Chamberland testified that he believes Mr. Magnotta suffers from a personality disorder, not a major mental illness like schizophrenia, and that he suspects Mr. Magnotta’s memory lapses, particularly about the homicide, are either convenient or evidence that he is malingering, or faking, symptoms.

First Mr. Leclair admitted that the defence perhaps had considered hiring Dr. Chamberland, but said it was a preliminary sort of call, and that it’s normal to “invite many candidates for a job.”

I think he knows that if the jury reads Dr. Watts 124 pg. report it will be a unanimous GUILTY of all charges decision. The ridiculous fiction and lies in that report speaks volumes.

I suspect that LM is making the amateur mistake of supposing multiple personalities=schizophrenia. His behaviour in front of the German psychiatrist let out all the stops. In most every other scenario he presents as very methodically coherent. If a psychotic does not know they are doing anything wrong they will have no compulsion to hide evidence.
