I got home from work and just jumped in where I left off. I was going to suggest we all light a green candle tonight as a way to shine Shane home.
Never seeing the header that he was found.

The thought of Shane's family watching their beloved son be pulled out of the water after all this time kills me. Kills me. To my very core.

I hope LE checks Shane's cellphone for photos and "memo" recording(s), in case Shane left a 'note' message. Also check for items possibly stored in the cloud.

His cousin retweeted something about not choosing a permanent solution to a temporary problem. I hope that that was not in reference to Shane...but you have to wonder.

I am not meaning to be insensitive in posting this. I've experienced the loss of someone to suicide so understand the ramifications of even the thought...but I think it's relevant.

An old boyfriend asked me why I participated at WS.
I told him if his daughter were missing, wouldn't he want people he didn't even know praying for her?
We just want the best for everyone.

Washed him outta my hair two years ago New Year's.

It shocks me that even in the 21st century, humans still are unable to accept that we are different in various ways and some fail to realize it is important to accept the differences of those closest to you, for they suffer the hardest. Sometimes, choices are made for them.

Something that has been speculated from the start is obvious.........Shane was probably in very bad condition in the bar. Which would explain why Kildare's felt the need to tell him to leave and show him to the door. Not the 'sober polite guy escorted to the door' which just doesnt make sense. Who escorts a sober guy not causing any problems?

So much for "relative"
JMO.

His cell phone pinged at 2:30 am, correct? I wonder if he had a waterproof case, if the phone pinged underwater, or he didn't go into the river until 2:30 am.

This was covered by Detpac. No 2:38 ping on the Phone.

This was Covered a little by the Detpac too. On the video. Shane is seen Stumbling from right to left while walking into the parking lot. So You are right about Kildare's. They immediately went from employees saying things on the Streets to The Corporate Lawyer Garbage we witnessed in their Press Conference! I work in a bar and get certifications on how to handle and approach patrons about being Very Intoxicated and stopping or slowing service. Stevie Wonder could see Kildare's lied!

I wonder if there will be any legal consequences for Kildares if the video is enough proof that they lied.

The brief visual of Shane crossing the bridge would not be enough by itself. A tox report would certainly help.

Wondering now that he's been found and where he was found, what are people's thoughts? 1.)Accident, 2.)foul play or 3.)purposely went into the water?

My thoughts are, in order of likeliness:
Accident
Suicide
Foul play

Unless there is anything to indicate foul play or suicide, I think it's very likely we'll never know.

i feel terrible that Shane didnt have his debit card. whether it was truly lost on the floor (when he allegedly bumped dj? when bouncers were "escorting" him? bc he was overserved?) or if it was at the bar with an open tab...

without that card, with a dead phone, in the cold not able to reach his friends... he is stuck. he cannot pay for a cab. he cannot go to another bar if not to just chill in there for a bit or look for someone he knows. so he starts to walk home. or walk to warm. at least that is how it plays in my head.

Speaking of the PK case.
While the divers were searching for Paul- they found another body.
She surfaced rather quickly. Same water temps too & deeper waters.
I think she went missing Christmas Eve.

I saw that and posted one of the links on Paul's site . They almost immediately ruled it a suicide too. I posted that I wondered how they determined that so quickly when all she brought were her cell phone and purse. Maybe a note or something. I am going to continue to check that site but assume in a few weeks we may have the same outcome sadly.

Early on I speculated Shane may have walked the rails to the rails bridge area near the Manayunk Brewery and may have attempted to navigate to their dock with the intent to head home via Shurs Lane.

What squelched that theory was the discovery of Shane's keys 30 feet from the bank of the south west corner of the parking lot. It appears, indeed, that Shane entered the water at or above that corner of the parking lot and was carried downstream to near that dock.

You might be on to something here. I'm trying to make sense of this. I'll try to find a pic for reference. The Green Lane Bridge is above the parking lot. I'm just rough guessing don't have any accurate numbers in my head- I remember my dad telling me it was originally named the Pencoyd Bridge- 150 feet long- my gosh it's been some time. I'm gonna guess 75 feet high- hmmmmm?... I'll be back I wanna get some facts here.

Yes, thank you- that's where I got the info from. I wanted to give you some props, but I was on an iPhone & had no clue how to get from one thread to another. Somebody did ask for the link.
MamaJ linked it.

Wonder if his wallet was with him too

Me too because that with the cell phone would rule out any type of robbery. I noticed he wore a gold chain in many pictures so that would be the only other item from a robbery perspective. Other reasons for foul play may exist but I think this truly was accidental .

I barely slept last night. I'm having some thoughts towards my theory here. Im actually frightened to research this subject. I never once thought suicide- why?... Because of ignorance- people tried to explain it. I've never thought "accident" and will have a very hard time if it is ruled an accident.
Foul play was my suspicion...but there just isn't enough pieces to fit.
However, suicide has many pieces and I'm slowly trying to gather them.

Ignorance on my part.

That's the great thing about this place, it can really open your mind to the possibilities.

Unfortunately, you do tend to pick up on patterns as well. :(

Interested in hearing your thoughts when ready. I immediately thought suicide when reading Paul's case based on his interactions with friends and how they described his emotional state. I briefly considered it with Shane but got steered away because he seemed more accident prone and dare I say a bit reckless (in a young adult way) - just based on the crumbs of info we got.
