MS - Jessica Chambers, 19, found burned near her car, Panola County, 6 Dec 2014 - #7

so many people have been sued for not saving someone, or doing damage, after trying to help that there are now more laws defending someone's right NOT to help than requiring people to help.

My soon-to-be daughter-in-law is a nurse practitioner, and she has said she would stop to help someone in need, but would not identify herself as a medical professional, for fear of a lawsuit.

Let me throw another possible idea into the mix:

Today, LE arrested Lance Alan Solomon who allegedly killed another man in Logan County OK. They were able to trace Solomon from OK into Mississippi then on to Detroit, MI by purchases using the deceased man's credit cards and phone while driving his stolen 1999 Cadillac Seville (found dumped near the Tate/Panola county line north of Como on Dec. 24th on the side of I-55 near the 258.5 mile marker in Panola County, Miss).

The dates are hard to pin down because they are not certain when the man was murdered due to the condition of his body (found Dec. 15th), but Dec. 2nd LE got footage of Solomon at Walmart and Arvest bank (the only time Walmart was mentioned in this case was from Hazlehurst, MS). I traced the route and it would have taken Solomon within minutes of JC on his way to Memphis, TN. This would put him in the area near the time Jessica Chamber's was burned on December 6th. The stolen car was found dumped straight up I-55 roughly 30 minutes from where Jessica and her car were found burned.

Suspected murderer and thief on the run and driving minutes away from her little town at the time? What are the chances?

Here is the thread on WS with all the links I used to piece this together:

That is very freaky. You did some really great sleuthing.

Seriously searching, you must be from Oklahoma to know of this case cause I haven't heard about this man at all.

I disagree that government as a whole has engaged in any of these activities. But this is off topic anyway, with regards to Jessica. JMO
I usually don't either, but the last 6 months of cop-hating, race-baiting and lack of support for LEOs from Govt forced me to make a stand. I refuse to be labeled as "subconsciously racist" just because I'm white.

Investigators in Jessica Chambers case search for new clues

http://www.wmcactionnews5.com/story...in-jessica-chambers-case-search-for-new-clues

"We still have some gaps that we don't have an answer to at this point, and those are some of the things we're still trying to figure out on these gaps," said Champion. "Quite frankly, we're still getting little tidbits of new information periodically that we're following up on."

Investigators believe the attack could have been targeted at Jessica Chambers, but they aren't ruling anything out.

Jessica Chambers' mother is getting increasingly frustrated.

On WMC Action News 5 at 10, Janice Broach talks to Lisa Chambers about how her daughter had turned her life around and made plans for the future.

I don't understand how going into a temporary vegetative state and drooling is appealing to some people, unfortunately some kids and adults will go to great lengths to get high. I need to write a book about what to look for and how these kids today go about doing what they do.

I know this is OT but if anyone of you need to ask a question about your children and any suspicions you have and want a direct answer you can ask me, I might be able to help.
Apparently it makes some people irritable, angry and confrontational, while others are silly drooling gigglers. They also seem to be irresistibly drawn to Wal-Mart to buy canned air which they do in the bathroom or parking lot. Check out these poor fools: http://inhalant-info.blogspot.com/?m=1

would this have been a crime of opportunity for him or part of a psychotic break? or did JC maybe see something? maybe he stopped off for gas at M&M and followed her? what kind of stolen car was he driving?

I really hate saying it cuz I love LE (I have a thing for men in uniform especially the ones on motorcycles)but its like these men came straight from Sesame Street.

Back on thread #1, we were talking about JC's Kia Rio and recall this post (pun intended) BBM:

The battery was out of her phone. Was the battery cover on the phone as if it were replaced after the battery removed or was the cover still off? Not sure what kind of phone she had but if she dropped it after exiting the car it could have fallen out then. Do we know if the battery was found?

I'm leaning toward a tragic engine fire that rapidly overtook her and the car causing her to lose control. The Kia Rio did have this as a recall problem.

After researching some more about Kia vehicles, I was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of news articles, forum discussions, and YouTube videos depicting Kias on fire! Including the Kia Rio which JC drove.

There are countless car accidents involving various Kia models that caught fire. Some fatal and others not.

I even found a few websites dedicated to warning others about the dangers of Kia vehicle fires!

I'm not sure if I have an actual point with this post or not? I'm not even sure by knowing all of this info now that it will sway me more to the side of a freak accident or stick with the "popular consensus"? I just know that I can't remember ever seeing so many car fires from one manufacturer since the Ford Pinto!

At the beginning of the LE's investigation, they were treating JC's death as an Arson. Now, it seems to be more of a murder investigation using fire.

I guess, I'm keeping my options open until the evidence proves what happened. Without knowing many of the details, it is hard. But, one thing for sure is... these Kias sure have fire issues!

I'm concerned more cars might have a mechanical defect and be at risk.

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Three people (including a teenager) who were all on their way to church were killed Sunday in a fiery crash in Northwest Fort Worth.

It happened around 2:00 p.m. on the westbound side State Highway 199/Jacksboro Highway at Hangar Cutoff Road – south of Eagle Mountain Lake.

Investigators told CBS 11 a minivan collided with a Kia Soul at the intersection. The Kia Soul then caught fire, according to police.

After the collision, the Kia traveled across the highway's median and caught fire upon stopping in the southbound left-turn lane, the report said.

If your car catches fire while you are driving, the most important thing to do is to remain calm. Then follow these steps, which also apply if your car ignites in a parking lot.
1. Signal and move immediately to the right shoulder, or right lane.

2. Get the vehicles stopped and shut off the engine while getting yourself and all passengers out of the vehicle.

3. Get as far away from the vehicle as you can, at least 150 feet, but make sure the area you move to is safe and secure.

4. Dial 911, so the dispatcher can notify the fire department.

5. Warn onlookers and others to keep away, as well. If you have some signaling device, you can also attempt to warn oncoming traffic.

I believe she told LE who attacked her and that's how they knew it was homicide so early, before forensics were done.

IMO thats a good thing no should be forced to do that, they might regret helping or not helping depending on the outcome. Me personally if I see it happen I will due my duty as a human with a heart. If I don't know exactly whats going on I will dial 911 and roll on. Its sad yes but, I hear it all the time drivers getting holes in their head by stopping and helping when someone was in "trouble" and it turning out to be a trap so they can steal their cargo.
I'm finally glad to see somebody say this, monster. I'd been holding my tongue (well, my fingers, actually) on this required to stop and help idea. I've told my two teenage daughters that they should NEVER stop for people trying to flag them down or if there seems to be an emergency when they are driving alone. When they are clear of any danger to themselves, dial 911, but for their own personal safety, keep that car rolling!

I agree that it's our natural human instinct to want to help, but unfortunately, there are far too many examples of ill-intentioned individuals preying on people by taking advantage of their desire to help. I've told my kids it's kind of like what flight attendants tell you if there's a drop in cabin pressure and you need an oxygen mask -- make sure you take care of yourself first before you risk your life attending to somebody else's needs. Some may think it's selfish, but as a mom, I think it's teaching teenagers a lesson in self-preservation and safety.

would this have been a crime of opportunity for him or part of a psychotic break? or did JC maybe see something? maybe he stopped off for gas at M&M and followed her? what kind of stolen car was he driving?
He was driving a 1999 white Cadillac Seville. Crime of opportunity while on the run would certainly fit. He had already killed someone so what did he have to lose? Psychotic break I doubt as he seemed in control enough to make it to Detroit, MI after maxing the cards and dumping the car. Did he need money when he went by her area? Why did he dump the car and why there?

They should have him on camera if he stopped for gas at AA's store. There was no mention of him using the stolen cards there, however.

PeterThomasFan, that's way more than the Pinto had! Maybe cuz we didn't have YouTube then, but still surprised Kia didn't make the news. Didn't LE say the damage to JC's right rear bumper was from buckling during the fire? It's definitely food for thought. Thanks

Wow! Enlightening and terrifying!

Would the fire resemble one with an accelerant used as they believe in this case? Couldn't the ATF determine if it was a mechanical fire stemming from the car itself?

Great research, PTF! I had not heard anything about the recall or fires. I am passing this on to a couple of Kia Soul drivers I know! Thanks!

OT - but I agree. I'm teaching my 5 yo about safe people and unsafe people. One of the examples is an adult asking a child for help. this should never happen and is usually a ruse. same for teens, esp girls. They are still kids. keep driving and call 911. I should be more careful myself, esp with my daughter in my car. I'm forever following dogs on the loose to catch and return them home.

OT - I once drove cross country alone when I was 20. (I have done many times since, not alone). Between Reno and Salt Lake, some dude kept passing me and dropping behind me. He followed me off the highway to the gas station. asked me out to dinner, and if I was headed to SLC. I said no to dinner and no to SLC (even though I was going there). I often wonder what would have happened if I were not as street smart when younger.

In Mississippi choking bumps up simple assault from a misdemeanor to a felony so I’d be more than surprised if LE doesn’t know the who, when, where, how and why regarding the incident in the M&M parking lot-if it occurred. They’d need is a witness and/or video footage to make an arrest.

I apologize for being so far behind and not catching up completely before posting but I just have to say that maybe LE suspected George Mister of the one that supposedly choked Jessica the week before she passed.
Maybe that's what he was going to say until Rachel said something about a lovers quarrel. I really wish she had let him finish his sentence and more.
