She found out he had taken the boy when her ex texted her a picture of him waiving goodbye. She is very distraught:

A woman whose seven-year-old son has vanished with her estranged husband is appealing for staff and customers of a coffee chain to be on the alert.

Ms Dad, 33, said Costa coffee shops were among Mani's favourite haunts and asked customers to look out for him.

From September:

A man accused of assisting in his nephew's abduction has walked free from court due to a "serious defect" on paperwork served on him by police.

Mohammed Chaudhry, of Northamptonshire, was arrested after Mani Dad went missing...

Zayn Dean, 47, also known as Dholtana Dad, is believed to have abducted his seven-year-old son in January from his home in Kielce... It was thought the pair were in Britain, but the court heard they could now be in Pakistan.

The judge said family court rules required a jail warning to be "prominently displayed on the front" of any copy of an order served, saying Mr Chaudhry would have struggled to comprehend the "complex" documents handed to him by police.
............

So, he was free to leave court due to not having the threat of prison explained to him for withholding any information he may have on his nephews disappearance. Well he knows now, so why can't they go through the process again? or is that just too simple a solution within family court cases? Surely it's a criminal case if he helped his brother abduct this little boy from his mother.

It's beyond callous to both the child and parent when the other parent does this.
