has anyone ever thought that foul play was involved, in looking at the missing flyer on the left of her neck (her right side) it looks as tho there is bruising, I wonder if she was abused at home or if a boyfriend abused her. Could she has run away by hitchhiking? Thought this was interesting reading, but skeptical of a match, but still possible............... http://www.missingkids.com/missingk...NCMC&seqNum=1&caseLang=en_US&searchLang=en_US http://snohomishcountyjanedoe.homestead.com/News.html

You’re right that looks like a bruise, my first thought was it might be a love bite but it seems too big to be a love bite.

Where could Nancy be?
After all this time it would be nice to have just a little hint of what happened to her and where she might be located.

Thanks for the update!, the other missing girl mentioned in the article, has a thread here too.
From the article,
rbbm.
"Nine months after Robin Pettinato disappeared from Whitefish, a second North Valley teenage girl was reported missing from Columbia Falls.

She, too, never was found.

Nancy Lynn Kirkpatrick was 16 when she vanished without a trace on April 21, 1976, in Columbia Falls. She was walking home from a baby-sitting job in the neighborhood, but never arrived at her house."

Nancy's NamUs page: https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/3897/32. Also, side-by-sides of NK and JDB-17: Nancy Kirkpatrick.jpgJane Doe B-17.jpg. One thing that I thought was interesting about this UID was that radioisotope tests showed that she may have come from Montana or a few other nearby states before dying in Washington.

Great !!! I am curious: how long does it take one of these DNA comparisons?

It really just depends on if the available identifiers (DNA, dental records, fingerprints, ect.) for the missing person and the UID are compatible. Luckily both Nancy and Jane Doe B-17 have dentals and DNA available according to NamUs. If they are compared it should be easy to check, and if Nancy is ruled out her name will be added to the exclusion list.
