Strange that two victims in the store were stabbed but the officer was shot. I wonder if it was a robbery gone wrong? Maybe those were the employees inside? Very tragic.

Sunset Police Officer Henry Nelson and Shameka Johnson, 40, died in the stabbing and shooting incident in Sunset today, Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said.

Two other people were injured -- Courtney Jolivette, the suspect's girlfriend; and Surlay Johnson. Both are at area hospitals and Surlay Johnson is in critical condition.

The suspect has been identified as Harrison Lee Riley Jr. of Arnaudville.

Shaeka and Surlay Johnson are the sisters of Grand Coteau mayor, Shaterrel Johnson, said Opelousas mayor Reggie Tatum. The two were allegedly stabbed by Wiley.

The stabbings didn't take place in the store. That occurred in a home. When LE showed up, the suspect shot the officer, and drove to a nearby Mini Mart. No one at the MM was injured.

The two stabbing victims were sisters of the mayor of Grand Coteau.

A third stabbing victim was the perp's wife.

And now it's confirmed. The officer is dead. :(
[...]
The suspect’s wife, Courtney Jolivette, was also stabbed in the incident. She was taken to Alexandria Medical Center, where she was undergoing surgery.
Police officers said the suspect appeared to be high on drugs, according to Guidroz.

After the stabbing and shooting on Anne Street, the suspect drove three blocks to JR Food Mart and service station and drove his car through the front of the store, Guidroz said.

Oh no. Cousins? Is that how the shooter got a hold of his gun?
