Heather Elvis’ accused killers receive permission to move to Florida

"CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – The couple accused in the kidnapping and murder of Heather Elvis has received permission to move to Florida.

According to Kirk Truslow, attorney for Sidney Moorer, the confirmed order was signed that allows Sidney Moorer to relocate to Florida. Truslow adds the consent to modify the bond order was clocked in the Clerk of Court’s office Tuesday. Sidney Moorer’s wife, Tammy Moorer, received the same order that allows her to move to Florida, according to her attorney Greg McCollum.

Both Sidney and Tammy Moorer are charged with kidnapping and murder in the disappearance of 20-year-old Heather Elvis..."

WHY??? Make no sense :(

I was told by my urologist that calcium in food doesn't have an effect on the risk of kidney stones, but not to take calcium supplements, as these have been linked to increased risk of kidney stones. Studies have linked taking calcium supplements to kidney stones, but this is confusing as some studies show that supplements do not??? He also told me to limit drinking milk to 1 glass of milk a day (but that may be because of the kind of stones my body forms). Diets low in calcium can increase kidney stone formation in some people and always, always drink lots of water. He also told me not to eat: nuts, chocolate, ice tea, asparagus, and some other things that I can't remember now. :sheesh:

Is it okay to take calcium supplements?

"...Calcium itself isn't a problem as far as kidney stones are concerned. In fact, studies have shown that the more calcium-containing foods you eat, the lower your risk of kidney stones. This was confirmed during a 12-year study involving 91,731 nurses between the ages of 34 and 59, none of whom had had kidney stones at the outset. During the 12 years of the study, 864 of the nurses developed kidney stones for the first time (that averages out to about one of every 1,000 participating). The researchers found that the higher the intake of dietary calcium, the less chances the nurses had of developing stones. However, among the nurses who calcium intake was high and who also took calcium supplements, the risk of developing kidney stones was 20 percent greater than normal..."

There are various kinds of stones, so the kind of stones your body forms is very important to what you can eat/take to prevent stones.

I guess your best bet is to ask your MD if the supplements would harm you in regard to kidney stones (after you have had the tests required to see what your blood/urine shows). Not much help from me I guess. :sheesh:

Thanks so much and I think you are absolutely right on a lot of what you said because my Vet indicated some of the same things. Like make sure plenty of water. Which is why my Vet told me to go to a can food only so my dog got more water in his diet.

And you are right about the type of stones. My Vet analyzed my dogs stones to know the specific kind of stone it was and then he was able to tell us things to avoid for him. So you are right that it is important to know the type of stone.

With my irrational fear (never had stones yet) I probably should not worry about calcium supplements like I had been. I suppose if I ever get stones then I could reevaluate about the supplements. What I have done lately is just take one every now and then and not take them regularly like each day. I figured it was best not to take too much of it since I was so afraid of developing stones.

Ive heard too many horror stories about them and after watching what happened when my dog suffered it really made me fear getting them.

I have followed her case here on WS. When the trial starts, this will be a good trial for us to watch.

I cant believe they were even released on bail let alone get to move out of state. A lot of people think they are guilty. Its strange to me that they are even out on bail.

Heather Elvis body has never been found. Some people think they may have dumped her in Florida because they were huge Disney fanatics and took many trips down there. There was even a known trip down to Florida shortly after she went missing.

After hearing they moved down there I have to wonder more if that is where Heather ended up. Maybe dumped in the Ocean down there or maybe they knew a place that was secluded. If they did take her body down there then it probably did help to prevent LE from finding her and maybe that is why she never was found.

Im gonna try to be sure to follow the trial here.

That could actually turn into a nice weekend get-a-way for some close by :) We have some really good friends that live in Lansing that we visit. How far are you from Lansing? I know we are planning go up there maybe in the spring.

It sure could be a great weekend trip for us. We are about 90 minutes (south of) from Lansing, right off US-23.

Brown County Indiana is known for the beautiful Fall foliage and the many covered bridges that area has. The have a Coverage Bridge Festival each fall and the area is teaming with many street vendors, crafts, food, antiques, hand made quilts, many unique items. Something for everyone.

It's a beautiful area and just little over 2 hr drive from my area.

Sounds wonderful coffee, and I love looking at old covered bridges, but not sure about driving over an enclosed one. What else is there to see and do in Indiana? The mountains and lakes, and how it became a state? What early influences by people that settled there have on it? Where did the immigrants come from? Were there major populations of Irish and Italian like New York and Chicago? Or more German and Scandinavian?

That poor man must be in terrible pain. Hope he gets some relief very soon. It sounds terrible. He has to get better so he can be our driver!

I don't think our colors are very good, you need to go about three hours north of me. I don't know what would be the best direction to start out. Somewhere with mountains we can see from a short distance (please don't make me drive UP a mountain!) perhaps.

Vacation was great .... but now that we are home it seems so long ago. Ugh.... daily routine has struck.... laundry, cook, clean.... and I still need to get groceries. The highlight for me was to visit a historic courthouse in Mercer, PA. What a gorgeous place, inside and out! They escort the prisoners in and out the front door! (we saw a group being put into the van)

He's been out of pain since Monday afternoon, and he's not going to have the laser blasty thing done on Friday because his doctor is booked full and he was referred out to have it done then. So,he's hoping for it to happen this weekend because his doctor is on call in the ER. I told him this wasn't like scheduling a c section, and we'll see how this plays out.

Your vacation sounds wonderful. I like touring old buildings. To see the old style craftsmanship and pride they took in building them. I've been all the way to the top of the capital dome in Austin Tx. It's fifteen feet taller than the US Capital building, and you climbed a very narrow iron creaking stairway up and down.

I'm with you on wanting to look at mountians but not climbing them, but thanks to youtube we can see what it's like.

Don't know a good way yet to attach the sketch, but it's Namus case #7309. Please pray this is him!!! There are a few other possibilities, but I think this is the closest one.

I'm in the hospital right now trying to read and post from my stupid surface tablet, while wearing my cheaters, lol. Check out "THe Ultimate Cloth', they're amazing!!! Don't buy the knock-offs. I couldn't live without them for cleaning windows, stainless steel and many other things. I will try to find the website when I get home and will post it for you.

LOL give me time so I can Google all the interesting facts about Indiana. I can tell you more about the area I'm from without looking it up ;) For instance ; just a mile from my tiny little town we still have the original part of the Wabash Erie Canal! The block brick house that the workers used is still standing and the path the horses and men used to pull the barges down the canal. I will go and take a pic of it and post it. My town is founded by the Spanish.

Oh the memories that I have from the canal. In the winter we all ice skated on it and summer we would swing on grape vines and drop into the water...good times :) I have some very old pictures of the town as it was years ago, will look them up and post :) The town is/was a mining town and my grandpa was one of those miners who 'owed his soul to the country store' and fought for the miners union. He died from black lung at 69. I can remember him coming home all black and his miners hat with his 'lamp' on top, taking about crawling on his hands and knees in the mine shaft. He survived numerous cave ins.
