KY - Rowan County clerk Kim Davis Jailed for Contempt, 2015

BBM ... and honestly that is what this IS really all about for KD, IMO. I think she wants her $80k salary and a big winfall in law suits.

And attention. I think she loves all this attention.

And attention. I think she loves all this attention.

Loving the attention, relishing her ridiculous role as "marytr, " feeling self-righteous because her hateful bigotry has been reinforced by fellow bigots, including politicians, AND no doubt feeling relief that she's not going to be pried away from that
$80, 000 a year public servant position she has so badly abused .

Yeah, for someone who claims they don't want to be a hero, she sure reveled in the attention when Mike Huckabee walked her out with arms raised to "Eye of the Tiger", as if she had won some big important victory!:notgood::gaah::pullhair:

Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis said in a news conference while tearing up upon her return to her job – which she is not doing – that marriage licenses are being issued in Rowan County without her authority and she wants her name and title removed.<snip>
ABC News reports:
Davis also told reporters this morning that she wants the licenses to indicate that they are being issued under federal authority.
She returned to work today nearly one week after being released from jail for failing to issue marriage licenses over her religious objection to same-sex marriage.
Davis filed an appeal Friday that asks for another delay in issuing the licenses. If the court does not respond before Davis returns to work, she will have to choose whether to allow her office to continue issuing licenses or again disobey the judge who already sent her to jail.
Davis wants her authority to be respected while she dismisses the authority of the Supreme Court. She claims the clerks have no authority to issue licenses. However, Davis said she would take no action against deputies issuing marriage licenses. more at link: http://freakoutnation.com/2015/09/k...ed-from-licenses-are-we-not-a-tolerant-state/

For someone who claims to be standing for "her god", I'm surprised that such a secular song was chosen as the anthem for her release from jail. One would think a more spiritual song would have been chosen to commemorate the occasion.

I totally agree about her demeanor when Huckabee escorted her onstage. She may believe that she's been awarded a crown of victory. If she does, she apparently doesn't have the sense to know that it was not a walk of victory, but a walk of shame.

Wake up Kim Davis - you are only a hero to bigots. Bigots are not held in high esteem on this earthly plane or anywhere else in the universe where love is the guiding force.

I think we all know how this is going to end. Have not seen a single post that supports her position. So, should this thread be about who can vilify her the most?

Please explain why her usage of her publically elected office to inflict her religious bigotry against others and to deny civil rights to those who meet the legal requirement for a marriage license should be supported.

Please explain why her actions of violating federal law should not be vilified.

Kim Davis needs to remember it wasn’t Gays who put Jesus on the cross, it was religious people.

FOX is the premium example. It's dated now, but Fair and Balanced, My *advertiser censored*!: An Unbridled Look at the Bizarre Reality of Fox News is a fun and informative (if aggravating) read. They are masters at what they do and their audience eats it up.

I didn't expect FOX to be popular among the posters on this thread. I don't listen to them much, but when I do I don't find them much different than other MSM outlets. Most slant their reporting to fit their agenda.

It's no surprise you find them different because they are. I recommend that book. The examples are older (it was written in 2007) but the practices and principles still apply.

Her actions should not be supported. My post was in response to a suggestion that we should not spend time talking about media bias. My point was since we all agree that she does not deserve support, posters just keep repeating the same arguments we all agree with.

What a Velveeta moment. Gross.

I will bet if she refused to sell someone a gun based on moral principles, she would not be the darling of Faux News. She would be a commie-socialist-liberal-jerk.

Just a little humour break.

I said I don't find them much different.

Tired eyes. I misread it.

That's interesting. Almost everyone I know thinks FOX is different from other MSM. It also seems to be a popular belief according to the internet.

Do you believe that discussion about a topic should cease if everyone participating in the thread thus far is in agreement?

As far as media bias goes: I refuse to allow the mainstream news outlets to dictate to me what I need to know or what I want to know. If I allowed MSM to make up my mind for me, I'd be dumb enough to believe that Trump is a presidential candidate worthy of attention.

That doesn't surprise me. A lot of people I know think FOX is different & that's why they watch it.

Yeah, most media does have a slant. That's why I chose not to watch Fox News with it's Right Wing Slant, nor do I watch shows like Entertainment Tonight often. Like you, I knowingly chose my slant in whom I get my news from. I prefer The Huffington Post, and Bill Maher.

Sorry if already posted.

One day after Davis returned to work following a stint in jail for defying a federal judge, the Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals shot down another of her requests to delay issuing the licenses.

After four couples sued Davis for refusing them licenses, she filed a counter lawsuit against Gov. Steve Beshear, alleging that he improperly instructed clerks to abide by the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in June that legalized gay marriage. The appeals court rejected her request to delay that directive, but also declined to toss the appeal entirely, as Beshear had requested.

What is wrong with her? Her attorney's advice landed her in jail. I would want my attorney to keep me OUT of jail.
