Another music legend gone too soon. The Eagles were one of my very favorites growing up. RIP Glenn Frey. You will not be forgotten.

Thanks to my older brothers I grew up with the Eagles too. I know he didn't write it, but "And then you'll have to eat your lunch all by yourself" is one of my all-time favorite bit of lyrics. I can hear him singing it even without playing it.

Damn. I feel like I'm going to cry.

RIP Glenn.

Glenn co-wrote and sang on most of the Eagles hits, including "Take It Easy," "Tequila Sunrise," "Lyin' Eyes," and "Heartache Tonight," to name a few. He also co-wrote "Hotel California" and "Desperado" with Don Henley and took home 6 Grammys with the band.

Don Henley said, "He was like a brother to me; we were family, and like most families, there was some dysfunction. But the bond we forged 45 years ago was never broken. He added ... "We built something that has lasted longer than anyone could have dreamed. But Glenn was the one who started it all."
Glenn was 67. RIP.

I like the way he explains the band's relationship here:

“It's Your World Now”
Written by Glenn Frey and Jack Tempchin
From the Eagles’ Long Road Out of Eden album

A perfect day, the sun is sinkin' low
As evening falls, the gentle breezes blow
The time we shared went by so fast
Just like a dream, we knew it couldn't last
But I'd do it all again
If I could, somehow
But I must be leavin' soon
It's your world now

It's your world now
My race is run
I'm moving on
Like the setting sun
No sad goodbyes
No tears allowed
You'll be alright
It's your world now

Even when we are apart
You'll always be in my heart
When dark clouds appear in the sky
Remember true love never dies

But first a kiss, one glass of wine
Just one more dance while there's still time
My one last wish: someday, you'll see
How hard I tried and how much you meant to me

It's your world now
Use well your time
Be part of something good
Leave something good behind
The curtain falls
I take my bow
That's how it's meant to be
It's your world now
It's your world now
It's your world now

Glenn-
I want to sleep with you in the desert tonight, with a billion stars all around.

My local news broke with this almost an hour ago. I couldn't find any major news that had confirmed and was hoping it was a hoax.
Since then CNN and CBS also had the story up.
Very sad to have it confirmed.
R.I.P. Glenn Frey

I've got the fireplace lit because I can't get warm, but I've got the windows open and I'm blasting the Eagles for all the town to hear.
Oy, what a day.

I saw the Hell Freezes Over tour concert in Denver. Great concert!!!!
RIP Glenn! You will be missed greatly by my generation and All generations!

R.I.P. Glenn:rose:.:rose: :rose:Still have my original Eagles LP's from when I was a teenager. Loved all the classics including Hotel California, Peaceful Easy Feeling, Boys of Summer, and some I can't remember the titles. There was a beautiful one I think the title was Hollywood Waltz. Such a sad start to a new year that all these great performers are dying.:tantrum:

Partial lyrics to another great song of theirs: "This is the last lonely evening that you'll have to spend before your little heart is on the mend".

They were such an easy band to listen to.
