4 years later, what do we think of the case / verdict now?

That's what I don't get. She was declared indigent, wasn't she?

Baez used the $200K she got from ABC for selling photos of Caylee. In March 2010 she was declared indigent. At that time she signed an statement that Baez was not owed anything and was not expecting any further payment. It was only when she declared bankruptcy that this mysterious $500K was mentioned- IMO solely to make her look more in debt than she really was.
I (among many) sent a copy of that doc to the Bankruptcy court but nothing was done about it....

I assume it's just a can of worms a lot of people don't want to open. Any sort of criminal charges against her will get nationwide coverage.

Florida seems to be in the same boat with Zimmerman. Sometimes I really, really don't like that state and the way justice is interpreted there.

Casey's resentment of Cindy and the permanent removal of Caylee from Cindy's life reminds me of stories we hear in the news about a mother or father killing the child during a divorce or custody battle. I think Casey wanted to be rid of the "burden" of being a mom but also saw it as an opportunity to hurt her own mom. The last thing she wanted was for Cindy to have Caylee; instead she used the child as a weapon against her.

I never had children but I have to disagree with what Jeff Ashton said in his book about Cindy choosing Casey over Caylee. I think the reason Cindy tried to backpeddle on the car smell and why she claimed she made the chloroform searches was not because she was choosing Casey over Caylee but because she believed Casey would be convicted and would get the death penalty. She may have assumed the harshest punishment available would be chosen by the jury for a baby killer and so she was trying to save her daughter's life. If I were Casey's mom, I would always hate what she did. I might even hate Casey herself. But I probably couldn't live with myself if I didn't try to keep her from lethal injection. I think that's just a mom's heart. She can't condone the things Casey did but she still doesn't want her dead. Even though I'm not a mom myself, that kind of love is something I can understand. I don't think she meant to belittle Casey's death in any way, she just didn't want her own daughter to die as well.

Great post. I do think that was part of it. Maybe it was a large part of it. But the other problem is that Cindy is just a liar.

She lied during Caylee's memorial about "Casey coming to her and telling her that she was pregnant and both of them crying tears of joy." That never happened. Casey did not tell her she was pregnant until she was almost ready to give birth. Casey got away with lying to Cindy until they attended Rick Pleasea's wedding and Rick Pleasea confronted her on her claims that Casey was just having "woman problems" and told her that if Casey had a tumor it was a baby sized one and she didn't have much time left.

I also don't find it excusable that she was pointing the finger at Amy Huizenga and Jesse Grund and trying to implicate them to the police based on the "code-speak" she was getting from Casey. When Amy Huizenga took her to Tony's apartment to go see Casey, Cindy was very candid with her. Cindy spoke about the smell in the car, spoke about all of Casey's lies, told Amy when Amy brought up the four hundred dollars that the money was gone and gave Amy a heads up about checking her bank account as well. She also apologized for Casey's behavior and any problems Casey may have caused her.

Then she got up on the stand and told more falsehoods, what really ticks me off is her description of the night of June 15. She said her and Casey cuddled with Caylee and cried over her sick father, which I sincerely doubt, since Shirley had been ready to press charges against Casey for stealing from them again earlier that day.

But what really makes me dislike Cindy are three things.

One, she used Caylee's memorial as a chance to hurt Richard and Jesse Grund, by sending them a notarized warning saying that if they tried to attend, they would be escorted off the premises by the police.

Two, she left that boorish message on Tim Miller's answering machine (after he suggested they started also searching wooded areas, etc., just in case) rubbing in the fact that his child was dead, but claiming that Caylee wasn't. She then accused him of stealing money from them and told him that he didn't want to go against the Anthonys because "the Anthonys always win."

Three, she tried to control the police investigation. She cried and gnashed her teeth during one of her police interviews, because the police went to the nursing home to check the date that Caylee disappeared and the police spoke to Cindy's mother after she told them not to bother her.

Then she purposely gave the police the wrong brush and bragged about it in an email.

She's a horrible person and a liar, an enabler and a terrible mother and grandmother, IMO. I can only hope she has enough of a conscience to suffer for it.

I have my doubts. I think she's too deluded to ever realize what she's done or feel any real guilt over it or realize that she is a huge loser despite the fact that the "Anthonys (minus poor Caylee, not to mention George who will have child molestation accusations floating around him for the rest of his life) won." I think she played a significant part in turning Casey into what she is today by refusing to discipline her and believing everything Casey says even though she knows her daughter is a pathological liar and a sociopath.

She seems to have the same issues taking responsibility for things as Casey does. In her last interview, despite the fact that she lied repeatedly on the stand and had a huge effect on it, she seemed to think that Casey's "not guilty" verdict was a message from God that Casey was, in fact, not guilty.

Personally, I'd rather believe that God is using Casey as a vehicle to punish them for their wrongdoings for the next couple of years and then when they've been punished enough, karma will get Casey. It just sounds so much better than Cindy's version.

I still believe the jury ignored a lot. Not knowing COD is no longer a reason to acquit. Murder trials are successfully prosecuted without a body these days. The jury got it wrong then and it's still wrong even though there are those who believe the prosecution messed it up.

FYI - Tonight (Thursday) on LMN:

8:00PM (EST) Prosecuting Casey Anthony

10:00PM Beyond the Headlines: The Casey Anthony Story

So where and what are they doing today?

Cindy Anthony....she still a nurse?

George Anthony....is he back working at all?

Still Living in the same home?.....of course they did not foreclose.

The brother and his wife and child(ren)? He was the smartest one....stayed away for most of it, and kept his mouth **** unless mommy dearest got to him like she did in the beginning. He knew if he wanted to keep his then finance, have any future, he needed to stay away from his posionois sister.

We will see many times in the future FCA and few minions she has, put out planted pictures, rumours of jobs, pregnancies, love....testing the waters to see if dhe can release a book, make a movie.

The one thing is there are some young WS members, and older ones, but I hope that The young ones keep track of the felon and reveal her plans, tricks and exploits so she never profits on little Caylee's life and death. The felon never cared for anyone except for herself. The investigator she is living with, her lawyers are being led by a liar and are so blind to it all. The felon belongs in prison.

Not knowing exactly when or exactly where or exactly how or even WHY should NEVER EVER excuse the fact that a 2-year-old was found DEAD (unreported), in the woods, stuffed in garbage bags, with duct tape around where her nose and mouth should have been. Common sense seems to becoming more uncommon every day.

Her High-five, sign destroying, dog water bowl dumping, computer sabotaging, Bro will never get a pass from me. Her whole family are from the same rotten cloth. Just check out their testimony and actions during the trial and the memorial service for Caylee. It says it all.

And Mallory played her role in this too...she testifed about what an "amazing" mom fca was, carrying on about how much she loved Caylee and the bond they shared, etc... Fca had just accused her fiance on national television of molesting her...I guess playing her part and gaining the A's approval meant more to her than her furture children's father having the tarnished reputation of a child molester... I hope fca's freedom was worth it to her... Shame on her...

All jmo.

Cindy still holds an active RN license in Florida but indicates on her renewal that she is not currently practising Nursing.
I don't imagine she will be working again, she wasted no time in getting disability... I can't imagine anyone who knows her would trust her enough to let her work with them, after seeing how she behaved in public and lied under oath .

I'm sure he was aware she wouldn't be able to pay him in full. I also am pretty sure that the amount of publicity he got from this case was payment enough for him. He looked like he loved the limelight. His constant smirk was plastered all over his face whenever the camera was on him. You can see the self aggrandizing satisfaction, having all those cameras pointed at him, brought him whenever you look at a photo of him. I'm sure he got exactly what he wanted from Casey, monetary or not.

Yeah... he's a huge, soulless farce. He cheats, lies and disrespects the rules of the court to get people like Casey back on the streets to kill again. All so he can line his pockets and see his fat, double-chinned, smirking face on TV.

You Nailed IT. That is him. Soulless, liar and cheater. Almost on par with his Convicted Felon client.

They need to make not reporting a child missing a crime.

Soooo a while ago I started seeing commercials up here in PA for Morgan and Morgan Law Firm which was weird enough. Now I just saw their ad which has Judge Perry on it [emoji38]

FCA could not have reported caylees death. It would have revealed her murderous act.

Exactly. You know I ran into a post someone made on a message board awhile back where they were claiming they knew one of the women on the jury (I think the only one that was crying) and they said that she wanted Casey found guilty of first degree due to the duct tape and the chloroform along with the lies. They said the not guilty verdict was led by a few people who were defending Casey and saying "Prove this is not an accident", "prove George wasn't involved! I think he killed the little girl." They allegedly cursed and belittled the others and called the prosecution and the witnesses names. They blamed the smell on garbage and the decomp chemicals on food matter until the rest of the jury caved. They then started screaming at the people who wanted manslaughter, yelling "prove Casey was her caregiver, prove she was negligent, prove Casey put the body in the woods or knew where her father put the body!" until last holdout got sick of being belittled and being called names and gave in.

The poster also claimed that the juror they knew was having trouble sleeping and they all had to pay in the aftermath for the few that were cheering the defense on for some reason. Said juror would hang the jury now and has to live with what they did.

I would post the entire thing, but I don't think websleuths would allow me to quote hearsay posts from anonymous posters.

Anyway, it sounds like the most reasonable explanation of what probably went on in the jury room to me. It matches one of the juror interviews where one of them claimed the last holdout finally gave in and said "whatever you guys want" because he knew they weren't going to change their minds.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say if this story is true, one of the screaming jurors was the foreman. Another reason I think Baez tampered with the a juror or two. I honestly can't see anyone taking Casey's side and advocating for her so aggressively unless they are dumber than a box of rocks or they had an ulterior motive.

BBM - I always thought that too.
