For now, we will follow the jury selection in this thread. We may see a dedicated Jury Selection thread if there is heavy traffic following the case and lots of tweeting covering it.

A former DeKalb County judge tells CBS46 News that picking the jury will be extremely difficult because of all of the media attention the case has received over the past two years.
"People talk about picking a fair and impartial jury but that's not what the lawyers are trying to do at all," said CBS46 Legal Analyst Keegan Federal. "The fact of the matter is, they're trying to find very partial jurors. Partial to their side of the case."

Judge being fairly accommodating to jurors requesting hardship but so far none have been dismissed #RossHarris #hotcardeath

I imagine they will! I think this trial is gonna get LOTS of media coverage based on all the comments I am reading on Facebook from my friends that live around Marietta Square. There's no more parking! People are actually parking in private driveways to walk to the court house! This is just JURY SELECTION FOLKS!!
It hasn't even gotten "real" yet!
* note to self... AVOID Marietta Square until July, unless I am having someone drip me off to attend!! [emoji6]

I've been following since the terrible beginning, and had wanted to attend the trial. Marietta Square is so small, but it would be worth walking to show support for Cooper. I'm in Douglasville, btw.

well poo - this tweet says tomorrow. Wonder which is correct?

Justin Ross Harris-- adjourned until tomorrow to continue with jury pool. @cbs46

Thanks for the updates, WSers, on today's jury selection. Much appreciated!

Two potential jurors have been excused after they and others explained scheduling conflicts to a judge overseeing the trial of a Georgia man accused of intentionally leaving his toddler son in a hot SUV to die.

[...]

About a dozen jurors who had asked to be excused were invited to explain their reasons to the judge.

More than 300 potential jurors are expected to be sworn in Tuesday morning. They will fill out a questionnaire and then will be told to come back for further questioning at some point in the next week or so.

Justin Ross Harris sat somber-faced next to his attorney in a small, tightly-packed courtroom near Marietta, Georgia's town square Monday afternoon, dressed in a blue shirt and red tie instead of the orange prison clothing he's worn for nearly two years.

Harris fidgeted as attorneys for both the prosecution and his defense began the process of selecting 12 jurors and several alternates from a pool of 550 Cobb County residents to hear a first-degree murder case that has captivated the nation.

Those selected jurors will decide if 22-month-old son Cooper Harris died of heatstroke in a closed-up and unbearably hot car because his dad forgot to take him to daycare – or if it was a deliberate and cruel murder by design, carefully researched and planned.

The case will be tried before Cobb County Superior Court Judge Mary Staley, a former prosecutor.

Marking my spot in this sad case.
JH gives me the creeps. At this point I believe he's guilty.
My .02.

Live report on FoxNews just said defense filed a couple of motions today, one of which requests that the jury be allowed to physically view the SUV and to visit certain "key" locations in the case. Reporter said probably JRH's workplace and possible the restaurant, etc.

I have a feeling that they may be sequestered! What do you think?

Sure, let them visit so they can fully can your client. I think the defense is being really stupid with this move.

Why do you think the defense is stupid for filing the motion? I think it's a good idea so the Jury can fact check some of Detective Stoddard's statements. One key location the defense may want the Jury to see is the intersection on Cumberland Parkway, where RH made the U-turn.

This defense request is interesting, the SUV is really small. I would think this will help the prosecutor. Jmo

I agree. I'm very curious why the defense would make this request to visit the locations in person. Perhaps to show how he could've been distracted when driving from breakfast to his work? So show how close other cars were to his parked in the lot all day which would indicate he wouldn't leave his son there on purpose? I really don't know what they are thinking!
